COLLINGSWOOD, NJ -- At 2:40 task force 17 was dispatched to a report of a dwelling fire at 105 Chestnut
Avenue. Initial reports of the second floor being well involved were confirmed on arrival of 1601 (Chief
Amet). Collingswood Engine 1613 arrived and laid into the fire from a hydrant located on Ferry Avenue.
Engine 1613 went in operation with two 1 3/4 hand lines. Engine 1612 secured the water supply and their
manpower backed up Engine 1613. Ladder 16 arrived and performed ventilation. Westmont Rescue 15 was
assigned FAST operations, and Engine 1512 was a special call to the scene. Pennsauken Cascade 11 was
assigned mask services duties.Also on scene were the Camden County Fire Marshals Office, and Camden
County ISAT. The fire remains under investigation.

ELVERSON BOROUGH, PA -- At 1635Hrs., The Twin Valley Volunteers were alerted for a report of a Motor
Vehicle Crash at the intersection of Rt. 23 and Rt. 82 in Elverson Borough. Engine 69-1 made the response
in seconds due just clearing a Med. Local, While en route the CCFB advised that a car was into a house with
unknown injuries. B/C 69A(Miller) was first to arrive and reported a 2 Vehicle PIC with both drivers pinned
and both vehicle were into seperate houses. B/C 69A advised E69-1 to pull up to the scene and have it's
crew to work the right side of the street. E69-1 deployed all of its Holmatro Rescue Tools and the Extrication
was started on the silver car. Extrication of Patient one took about 6 minutes. Rescue Squad 69 arrived and
was ordered to work on the pick up truck into the other building. The Rescue Squad's crew deployed it's
Holmatro Tools and the extrication was started and completed in about 7 minutes. Engine 69-2 also assisted
the Rescue Squad and stood by for the possible L/Z. All units went ready at 1811Hrs.

PIC w/Dual Entrapment, Chester County, PA 04.04.2007
CAMDEN CITY, NJ -- On The morning of April 9th 2007 at approx. 1220 Hrs Camden City EMS reported an MVA
with possible entrapment at Chestnut and Mt Ephraim Avenues.  The MVA was caused after a Police Chase
by Camden City PD.  The suspect apparently had stolen a Motor Vehicle and later crashed into the PATCO
high speed line bridge abutment.  The single vehicle MVA contained only 1 passenger and he was ejected
from the vehicle and found some distance away.  Camden City Fire and EMS along with Virtua Medics
treated the patient for multiple injuries which he later succumbed to.  No other injuries were reported at
the scene.

Fatal PIC w/Ejection, Camden County, NJ 04.09.2007
BERWYN HEIGHTS, MD -- At 0544 hours, Rescue Squad 14 was dispatched to the innerloop of I-495 at I-95 for
the personal injury accident, with reports of people trapped. First arriving units sorted through the many
cars involved in the wreck and found entrapment in one car. Rescue Squad 14 with 7 volunteers arrived on
the scene and found three people trapped in a car that was wedged between a utility van and a Jersey wall,
requiring the removal of the roof to free the trapped patients. Extrication was started by stabilizing the
vehicle and removing the glass. Next, all posts were cut and the roof was removed. The squad crew
assisted with removing all patients by sliding them out the rear of the vehicle on backboards. Rescue
Squad 14 was ready for service at 0618 hours.

ST. MARY'S COUNTY, MD -- On 4/08/2007 at 2323 hours, the Volunteers from Station 3 were alerted to 46133
Pleasant Drive for the reported vehicle into the trailer with property damage only. Engine 32 under the
direction of acting officer (Chris Jones) arrived shortly after dispatch along with Squad 3 under the
direction of (FF. Mike Bruner) and advised that there was a passenger heavily trapped in the vehicle and
there would be extensive extrication. He also advised that the vehicle was under the deck and the trailer
from the front of the vehicle up to the rear seat on the passenger side of the car. The crews from Engine 32
and Squad-3 went to work shoring up the trailer utilizing Paratech struts, stretched a 1 3/4 line, and began
staging equipment for Extrication while Engine 32 Chauffeur, Rick Corcoran established the "Pleasant Drive
Command" and informed Chief 3 who was en route to the scene that it will be a lengthy extrication,
requested a helo, and requested an additional Engine Company to be dispatched on the assignment.
Engine 132 (NASFD) and Rescue 13 were dispatched by Communications. Minutes later Chief 3 (Wayne
Johnson) arrived and a transfer of Command occurred and due to the extensive damage from the accident,
command requested the next due Company with Paratech Struts be dispatched on the assignment also
bringing Engine 62 (Valley Lee VFD & RS) to the scene. The crews worked well together performing a
"Noah's Ark" on the vehicle along with cutting the deck off the car and the crews started to cut a hole in the
floor to assist in accessing the patient. The complete extrication of the victim took just under 30 minutes to
complete. Engine 91 handled the Landing Zone at Great Mills High School and the patient was transported
to PG Shock Trauma Priority 2. Red Cross was then called to the scene to seek shelter for the family that
lived in the trailer. Chief 3 held the command of the incident and Chief 3A held the Rescue operations and
Chief 9B assisted in bringing the flight medic from the landing zone.

Vehicle Into Trailer With Extrication And Fly-out, St. Mary's County, MD 04.08.2007
AKRON BOROUGH, PA -- BOX 12 was transmitted to 722 Main Street for the reported porch on fire. Moments
after dispatch PD arrived on scene and reported smoke showing in the area, after the first report Chief 12
arrived with a 2.5 story wood frame with a 2nd floor Balcony on fire on the Charlie Side. Chief 12 took the
command as Engine 12-1 arrived and went to work deploying a line to the Charlie Side of the house. The
crew from Engine 12-1 made a quick knock on the fire and started overhaul. Engine 12-2 & Squad 12 arrived
and assisted crews working on the 2nd floor. All units were ready in about 40 minutes after dispatch.

Small Fire On Balcony, Lancaster County, PA 04.12.2007
CAMDEN CITY, NJ -- Engine 10, Squad 7, Ladder 2, 1, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 were dispatched to 1325 Mt.
Epharim Avenue @ The Newton Trail Park for the reported mobile home fire. Camden County
Communications advised units they had multiple calls of a working fire. Communications upgraded the
assignment and added Engine 8 and Battalion 2 to the BOX. Engine 10 was the first arriving company and
reported heavy fire showing from a mobile home and went to work on the Charlie side. Engine 10 deployed
a 1.75" hand line and forced entry into the house and started a primary search which was negative. Crews
knocked down the fire and began overhaul, The Camden County fire marshal was requested to the scene.

Working Mobile Home Fire, Camden County, NJ 04.13.2007
SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP, PA -- Around 1530Hrs. on Sunday, April 15th while en route to an emergency call
Engine 37-1 and an SUV collided at the intersection of North Sixth Street and Linglestown Road. Three
firefighters, and the driver of the SUV, were flown from the scene to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
The SUV driver sustained serious injuries, however, the injuries to the firefighters are said to be
non-life-threatening.

Fire Engine Roll Over, 3 FF's Injured, Dauphin County, PA 04.15.2007
PALMYRA BOROUGH, PA -- At 23:37 Hours Co#1 was dispatched across from 15 South Chestnut St for a
reported working structure fire. Chief 1 (Dugan) went enroute and was advised by county of numerous calls
advising a working fire. C-1 a.o.s to find heavy fire on side B of the structure spreading into a business
beside it. C-1 requested a 2nd alarm which brought in multiple multi aid and transfer units. Crews made an
interior attack and within 10 mins had to evacuate due to the roof of the fire building collapsing in. All units
went exterior with 4 truck company's operating. Fire had spread into the adjoining ASK business and
collapsed the roof of that structure. Once crews had a knock on the bulk of the fire crews went back to
interior operations. Thanks to all the multi aid that assisted. Special thanks to Dauphin Engine 35
(Linglestown) for standing by.

2 Alarm Building Fire, Lebanon County, PA 04.08.2007
LEWISTOWN BOROUGH, PA -- At approx 2030 hours on 4/16/07, Box 14-10 was stuck for a working structure
fire, boro of Lewistown 217 N. Walnut Street. Units arrived on scene with heavy fire on the B/C corner.
Heavy winds made things interesting, but crews entered division 1 and had a good knock down of the fire.
Additional crews sent to division 2 and the basement, building was also laddered. LFD units o/s were
Engines 13-1, 13-2, 11-1, Trucks 14-1, 11-1, Rescues 14-1, 14-2, EMS Co 12

House Well Off, Mifflin County, PA 04.16.2007
NEW ORLEANS, LA -- On the Morning of April 17th, 2007, New Orleans Firefighters responded to Washington
Street in New Orleans "Central City" district. Upon Arrival Units found a "Well Off" working fire in a
Commercial Business with extension to several other structures including two residences and another
commercial building consisting of a Half City Block. The fire quickly went to 3 Alarms bringing 8 Engines, 4
Ladder Trucks, 2 Squirts, 2 Rescues (the Flying Squad and the Rescue Squad) 1 Tower Ladder, 2 Deputy
Chiefs and Two District Chiefs. The fire was brought under control using long hose lays, numerous hand
lines, deck guns and aerial master streams, but not before five structures where either destroyed or
seriously damaged. However, an abandoned School located directly behind the fire buildings was saved
through the efforts of Fire Fighters.  The fire was located in one of the hardest hit areas during Hurricane
Katrina. The fire at this time is of Suspicious Origin and may be the result of a dispute between the owner of
one of the buildings and a former tenant.

Building Assignment Goes 3 Alarms In The "Big Easy", LA 04.17.2007
HONEY BROOK TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 33-08 was transmitted to the area of the 600 Block Of White School
Road for the reported Barn on fire. Initial reports were given to Engine 33-1 that the second floor of the
barn was on fire and horses were still inside. Chester County Fire Board also then advised that the home
owner called back and said that there were many flammable liquids inside, and the flames were through the
roof. 69-30(T. Mast) was the first to arrive and report a 30 x 40 barn, and confirmed a working fire. With this
report Captain 33(J. Artus) was riding OIC of Engine 33-1 and requested the 2nd Alarm be transmitted and
the First Alarm Tanker Task Force. Engine 33-1 arrived and laid a supply line in the driveway as Engine 69-5
arrived shortly after and picked up their supply line from the hard road. Crews from Honey Brook, Twin
Valley and Churchtown found heavy fire conditions inside on the second floor. Crews also opened up the
sides of the barn and cut a couple holes in the roof to get the heat and gases out of the barn. Crews made a
good stop and held the fire to the large wood working area on the second floor of the barn.

2 Alarm Barn Fire, Chester County, PA 04.18.2007
DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- Around 1600Hrs the Rescue Local was transmitted at Route 372 @ Route 272 at
the infamous Buck Intersection, Rt. 272 and Rt. 372 in Drumore Twp. Chief 58 responded and was advised it
was a large truck into a mini van, with at least one person trapped. Safety Officer 58 arrived and confirmed
one person trapped in the passenger side of the van. Rescue 57 arrived, Cribbed the vehicle and forced
open the door using the "Jaws of Life" rescue tool. The patient was removed and placed in the care of
EMS.

Yet... Another One At The Buck, Lancaster County, PA
MILLVALE PA -- Around 4:30pm on April 19th, Allegheny County 911 dispatched fire units to a possible
commercial structure fire located on Lincoln Avenue in Millvale Borough. Police arrived on-scene and
confirmed a working structure fire. Millvale fire units arrived on-scene shortly after the police and
confirmed a working structure fire in an abandoned 2 story commercial structure with fire showing from the
2nd floor. Fire crews made an aggressive interior attack and quickly knocked down the fire. Fire units
stayed on-scene for over an hour for overhaul. The fire is now under investigation.

Working House Fire, Allegheny County, PA 04.19.2007
VERONA PA -- Just before 12:30am on April 22nd, Fire units were dispatched to a possible residential
structure fire located in the 500 block of East Railroad Street in Verona Borough. Verona police arrived
on-scene and reported some showing and for fire units to respond at emergency rate. The first fire unit
on-scene arrived and reported a 2 ½ story wood frame single family dwelling with fire and smoke showing.
Firefighters quickly knocked the fire down and contained it to the front porch area of the home. Fire units
stayed on-scene for about an hour to check for extension and to overhaul the fire damaged area. Three
adults were home at the time, two of them were treated at the scene by EMS for minor smoke inhalation.
The American Red Cross is helping those three fire victims and the Allegheny County Fire Marshal is now
investigating the cause of the fire.

Working House Fire, Allegheny County, PA 04.22.2007
BELLMAWR, NJ -- On Monday, April 23, 2007, Bellmawr’s Rescue, BLS and ALS were dispatched to the
Dollarland on the Black Horse Pike in Bellmawr for a vehicle into the building. Upon arrival crews reported a
vehicle that crashed through the front of the store.  The vehicle crashed through the front and struck
freezers which injured a civilian. The injured civilian was transported by ALS and BLS to Cooper hospital.  
The driver of the vehicle was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries by Runnemede EMS.
The accident is under investigation by the Bellmawr Police Department.

Vehicle Into A Building, Camden County, NJ 04.23.2007
CAMDEN CITY, NJ -- At 17:00 hours the Camden City Fire Department received numerous calls reporting a
dwelling on fire in the 1100 block of Sewell Street. Engine 9 arrived and reported a two story twin fully
involved. Engine 9 laid into the job and led off with a 2 1/2" blitz line. Engine 11 arrived and supplied Engine
9, 3 Truck arrived and began checking the exposures on the "D" side. Battalion 2 struck the second alarm
on his arrival. Because there were other calls occurring within the City Limits mutual aide companies from
Collingswood (Rescue 16) and Pennsauken (Ladder 112) were dispatched on the second alarm along with
other city companies.The fire was placed under control at the 40 minute mark. There was one resident from
a neighboring dwelling checked out for possible smoke inhalation. The City of Camden Fire Marshals Office
is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
