EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- Just before 3pm today, Co. 63 was sent to Star Dental on Colonial Village
Ln. in the Greenfield Corporate Center for the Automatic Fire Alarm. Engine 633 arrived and was informed
that there was a fire in the building’s dust collection system. Chief 63 requested some additional units but
not a full box due to the unit being outside of the main building. Crews from E633 and Truck 63 gained
access to the dust unit where they removed several burning filters while additional crews worked inside to
remove the duct work which contained fire. Due to the dust containing titanium products, Co. 41 (Bird in
Hand) was requested for additional Class D extinguishing agent. Crews removed the burning material and
ventilated the building within 1.5 hours.

Fire Alarm Turns Into Work, Lancaster County, PA 04.02.2008

CLAY TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Thursday April 3rd,
BOX Alarm 14 was transmitted to the area of
165 North Clay Road for the reported House on
fire. Communications advised units on the
ticket that they were receiving multiple calls of
a working fire with possible people trapped.
D/C 14 arrived on scene reporting 3 structures
well off and transmitted the 2nd Alarm on
arrival. Command started a tanker shuttle with
two fill sites due to units going heavy duty on
one 2 story wood frame house and a large
wood frame barn with a 3rd one story structure
as an exposure problem. All hands worked for
about 4 Hours to bring the blaze under control,
Hazmat Duty OIC and PSP Fire Marshal were
also added to the assignment to assist.

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- BOX 82 was transmitted @ 2309Hrs. on April 4th to 3025 West 9th Street for the
reported house fire with people trapped. Chester 11 arrived first to find a 2 story MOR with a female on the
porch roof and fire on the first floor. The female was removed by the police. Engine 83 arrived next and
placed a 1 3/4" water line inservice while Tower 82 checked for extension and did a primary and secondary
search. The fire was under control in 30 min.

PD Makes Grab As Firefighters Arrive, Delaware County, PA 04.04.2008
BLADENSBURG, MD -- At 0814Hrs. units were alerted to the 4600 block of Baltimore Avenue in Bladensburg
for the building fire. Engine 92 was clearing an auto fire in the Kentland community and added onto the call.
Engine 93 responded from the station and took the third due position. Engine 855 arrived on the scene with
a one story autobody shop with heavy fire showing. The units from 9 arrived on the scene and established
the secondary water supply. The Engine crews advanced two lines with Engine 855 through the front door.
Majority of the fire was knocked down with-in the first 5 minutes on the scene. With partial collapse of the
roof, command pulled all the guys from the structure. Crews continued for the next 30 minutes hitting hot
spots. Command started releasing units around 0900 hours. Company 9 cleared the scene at 0934 hours.

Auto Body Shop Fire, Prince Georges County, MD 04.04.2008
NUTTER FORT, WV -- At 7:21 AM, on Monday April 7th, Co. 7 (Nutter Fort VFD), Engine 121 (Stonewood VFD),
and Engine 11 (Anmoore VFD) were alerted for a Structure Fire at 130 Pennsylvania Ave. in Nutter Fort.
Engine 71 (w/6) arrived on scene 3 minutes later and found a 2-story dwelling with heavy smoke showing.
Crews pulled a cross lay from E71 and began to make entry into the home. Crews were then advised of
possible entrapment. Crews performed a search with negative results, however, a dog was heard yelping
and was quickly rescued by firefighters. Crews encountered heavy fire conditions in the kitchen and living
room areas. Engine 72 (w/3) then arrived on scene and laid a 4” supply line to the hydrant at the corner of
Pennsylvania Ave. and Nutter St. and hooked up to E71. AVFD E12 (w/4) and STVFD E122 (w/4) arrived on
scene shortly after 71, and Engine 12’s crew was advised to pull another cross lay from E71 and go to work
inside, while 122’s crew was put to work outside. Crews made quick work of the fire preventing it from
spreading to the 2nd floor and neighboring dwellings. 1 patient was transported by Harrison County EMS to
UHC with 2nd degree burns on her back. The fire was placed under control 30 minutes later and crews began
salvage and overhaul operations. The fire has been investigated by the WV State Fire Marshal’s Office and it
has been determined that the fire started on the stove in the kitchen. Crews went ready at 8:30 AM.

Heavy Smoke Showing On Arrival, Harrison County, WV 04.07.2008
EAST EARL TOWNSHIP, PA -- Tuesday evening around 23:21hrs., Blue Ball Fire Co. was dispatched to 4512
Division Highway for a Dwelling with reported 1 person trapped. Company 32 Chief officers arrived and
confirmed a working fire to the rear and all occupants out. At this time they added Tanker 36 (Goodville) and
Truck 39 to the box. While the truck was enroute, Rescue 39 was dispatched for the RIT assignment. Truck 39
arrived and was assigned to open the roof. The truck crew split and conducted a primary of the first floor
and located fire in the ceiling of several rooms, burning into the attic. The hoseline from 32 made a quick
knock of the attic while the outside truck crew finished the roof vent. Rescue 39 held the RIT, Engines 391
and 392 were later sent to the scene for manpower along with Air 39. New Holland had 37 volunteers marked
up for this call. Units from 39 operated for 1 hr and 58 minutes.

House Fire w/Reported People Trapped, Lancaster County, PA 04.08.2008
DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- Robert Fulton Fire company along with Quarryville and Rawlinsville Fire
Companies were dispatched Sunday afternoon to a building fire.  Fire reported in Drumore Township at
intersection of Route 272, Lancaster Pike and Spring Valley Road.  Deputy 5-13, Rob Samples reported heavy
smoke from a few miles out and arrived to find a shed/kennel fire to the rear of the property along Spring
Valley Road.  Deputy 5-13 limited the assignment to Robert Fulton and Quarryville and Rawlinsville were
recalled.  Robert Fulton pulled two preconnect hand lines and quickly extuinguished the fire.

Co. 513 Makes Quick Work Of A Working Shed Fire, Lancaster County, PA 04.13.2008
CLAY TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Monday April 14th at 1310Hrs. The rescue local was transmitted to the area of the
Agway store at 1731 West Main Street for the reported PIC with people trapped. EMS units from 112 and
Medic 12 along with Fire/Rescue from Engine Company 16 and Rescue Squad 115 were advised of a single
vehicle into a pole with one patient still inside. Communications added one add'l BLS from 112 due to
multiple calls being reported of injuries and entrapment. Ambulance 112-1 arrived shortly after dispatch to
find a single vehicle head-on into a utility pole with one person still inside. While EMS crews went to work
Engine Company 16 arrived confirming negative entrapment and recalled the Rescue Squad from 115, Medic
4 also became ready with-in the first due to handle the call and canceled Medic 12 from Lititz. Fire and EMS
crews assisted the patients from the vehicle and transported. All units cleared and went ready @ 1343Hrs.

STRASBURG TOWNSHIP, PA -- Around 1330Hrs. On April 14th, Strasburg Volunteers 510 along with EMS were
alerted for a two vehicle PIC in the area of Village Road @ Hampton Drive. Upon arrival, One vehicle was
reported into the rear of the another with Moderate damage to both. One patient was transported with a
reported pace maker problem and was reportedly what caused the crash to happen. Units where on scene
for about 45 minutes with clean up and tow truck arrival.

NEW HOLLAND BOROUGH, PA -- Tuesday, just after 13:30, the volunteers were dispatched for the reported
house on fire across from CNH. Chief 39 (L. Martin) arrived on scene confirming a working fire, side charlie
of the residence. Engine 392 and Truck 39 arrived simultaneously with a total staffing of 11 men. Engine 392's
crew deployed a 250' 1 3/4" handline into the structure to begin fire attack. Meanwhile, Truck 39's crew split
performing horizontal ventilation, forcible entry, primary search, and stripping the Truck of all ground
ladders. Upon Rescue 39's arrival, they deployed a back-up line for fire attack. Within minutes the fire was
knocked down, and all searches were negative. Engine 311 (Bareville) and Engine 322 (Blue Ball) were both
dispatched to assist with manpower. Crew's remained on scene for several hours while PSP Fire Marshall
investigated. 39 units cleared the scene at 16:45 hours. Station 39 had a total of 28 volunteers respond.
Engine 351 (Farmersville) stood by at 39 West.

that pulled him from a fire on 24th St on March 21, 2008. Joe was
released from the Hosp. earlier this week and wanted thank those that
help him in a time of needed. Joe is doing well and expected to return

Man Thanks His Heroes, Delaware County, PA 04.19.2008
WARWICK TOWNSHIP, PA -- Around 1500hrs. on Saturday April 19th, BOX Alarm 25 was transmitted to number
25 Buttonwood Drive for the reported house on fire. LCWC advised units on the ticket of Multiple call
reporting an attached garage on fire with it extending into the house. Companies 25(Lititz), 27(Neffsville) and
23(East Petersburg) arrived to find an Attached garage well off with fire through out a 2 1/2 story woodframe
single family Dwelling. Engine 25-2 place 2 handlines and a Blitzfire pipe into service as Tower 25 landed on
the Alpha/Delta Corner of the house and started venting and opening up. Command requested two add'l
Engines into the scene for manpower about 10 minutes in the incident, Companies 210(Rothsville) and
22(Brunnerville) were dispatched along with two add'l Tankers from 27(Neffsville) and 26(Manheim) which
were also requested into the scene as all hands worked to bring the fire under control. Command later
recalled both Tankers and reported the bulk of the fire knocked. The Fire was brought under control in
about 1 hour and one female patient was transported for the scene with unknown injuries.

Another Job On The Northside, Lancaster County, PA 04.19.2008
WRIGHTSVILLE BOROUGH, PA -- At approximately 05:30Hrs. on Sunday April 20th, 41 fire units and mutual aid
were alerted to 108 Hellam Street at the Hometown Hotel & Bar for a reported Building Fire with Possible
Entrapment.  Chief 41-1 arrived on scene with fire blowing from the Bravo Side on the 2nd Division and a
bystander reporting a possible patient on the 2nd or 3rd floor. A resident was unaccounted for later to be
found a block away with minor burns. All patients were self extricated prior to fire department arrival. The
fire reached 4 Alarms before being brought under control and the cause has been ruled arson.

MILLERSVILLE BOROUGH, PA -- On Monday April 21st, The Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity Chapter at Millersville
University held its Buzz-A-Chi Event at the Student Memorial Center. Brothers from the Lambda Chi Alpha
fraternity shaved their heads and raised money for our little Brother Ian Swarr which was diagnosed with a
rare skin disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa when he was born. Now at 9 years old, Ian is in a daily battle
with pain and suffering as the disease continues to take its toll on our little brother. Members from
PUMPFIRE, Millersville Volunteer Fire Company and Rohrerstown Volunteer Fire Company answered the call
for help from the Lambda Chi Alpha brothers as Ian is a Fire fanatic and loves everything it's about. Crews
from Millersville & Rohrerstown displayed their apparatus as the event took place. Ian also received Fire
Department Shirts, Patches and Decals as the Brothers shaved their heads to help raise money for the
event. No official total was released as of yet, but was a great event for everyone that took part. A Special
thanks to
Millersville & Rohrerstown Volunteers for their help of putting a huge smile on Ian's Face.

Buzz-A-Chi @ MU Gets Help From Volunteers. Lancaster County, PA 04.21.2008
LANCASTER CITY, PA -- Around 1450Hrs. On Monday April 21st, BOX Alarm 64 was transmitted to 321 North
Charlotte Street in the City for the reported house on fire. Communications advised city units of heavy
smoke showing from 321 North Charlotte Street, City units arrived moments later reporting heavy smoke
showing from a 2.5 story E/O/R Dwelling. Engine 2, 1, 3 and Tower 2 started an aggressive attack on the fire
after forcing entry into the house. Crews encountered heavy smoke conditions and high heat with no visible
fire. Interior crews reported the heat was increasing as the smoke got blacker and started to evacuate the
house. Command had Communication activate the EVAC tones as the house flashed over. Crews on the
Charlie Side reported a 10-15 foot fire ball from the rear bilco doors as they were opened. Command
transmitted the 2nd and 3rd Alarm as Crews quickly made a knock on the working basement fire with
extension to the 1st floor. No injuries were reported and the fire was placed under control in about 45
Minutes.

3 Alarm Fire Brings The Heat To The City, Lancaster County, PA 04.21.2008
LIVINGSTON COUNTY, NY- On Sunday afternoon, April 20, Lima Fire and EMS responded to a single car
accident with entrapment on Routes 5 & 20 just west of Livonia Center Road. Firefighters had to use the
"Jaws of Life" to extricate the driver and passenger from the vehicle, which struck a tree . They were
transported by Mercy Flight Central and Lima EMS to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Livingston
County and Livonia EMS Advanced Life Support also assisted at the scene. The Honeoye Falls Fire
Department stood by in the Lima fire station during the incident. The New York State Police and the
Livingston County Sheriffs Office were on scene, and continue to investigate the accident.

Alarm 25 was transmitted to 73 East Front
Street for the reported working house fire.
Communications advised units from 25(Lititz),
210(Rothsville), 22(Brunnerville) and
27(Neffsville) of multiple reports of a working
house fire with possible people trapped,
Tower 25 arrived shortly after wards reporting
heavy smoke showing from a 3 Story M/O/R
Dwelling and took command. The Crew from
Tower 25 Laid a supply line and deployed a
handline as E22-1 caught their own plug and
stretched a total of 4 Handlines into the row
home and exposure buildings. Crews
continued to work as the heat and smoke
increased and the attic area of the house
flashed over. Command requested add'l units
to assist with manpower and special services
throughout the incident. No injuries were
reported on the fire grounds as command
placed the fire under control in about 2 1/2
hours after dispatch.

RIDLEY TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Tuesday, April 22nd, The BOX was transmitted to the area of 604 Fox Glove Drive
for the reported house on fire. Squrt 43 arrived reporting the address to be 602 Fox Glove Drive with heavy
fire showing from a 2 1/2 story woodframe S/F/D. All crews went heavy duty as Heavy fire overtook the house
and an Interior attack was no long an option. The fire was marked under control in about 2 hours with all
hands working.

WARWICK TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Saturday April 26th, The PIC with one into a House was transmitted to the 700
Block Of Owl Hill Road. LCWC advised Engine Company 210 of a single vehicle crash with one reported into a
house. D/C 210 arrived confirming one vehicle into a house with (-)Negative injuries. Engine 210-1 and Squad
210 arrived shortly after wards and controlled hazards and checked the structure for major damage. All units
cleared in about 30 minutes after dispatch.

Mustang Vs. House, Lancaster County, PA 04.26.2008
STRASBURG TOWNSHIP, PA -- Around 2208Hrs, Strasburg Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for a PIC
class 2 in the Living waters parking lot at Hartman Station Road(Route 896) and the Pequea Creek. Upon
arrival Command 510 found a 2 vehicle crash on the south side of the building, upon investigating Command
upgraded the call to a PIC with entrapment due to a patient in a Sliver Jaguar trapped. Command then
Requested a 4th BLS unit which brought Ambulance 59 to the scene to help support the 7 patients that
needed transported along with Ambulances 43-1, 43-2, and 612-8 already on scene. Engine 510-2 and Squad
510 continued to work as command requested Rescue Squad 48 to the scene for manpower assistance.
There was a total of 8 patients that had minor injuries and 1 ALS patient that were transported. The
extrication of the patient was completed at 2243Hrs.

RADNOR, PA -- Just as the evening rush hour was getting to its peak a serious crash occurred on the blue
route north bound. Companies 15 and 53 were dispatched to the area of I-476 approaching the St. Davids
Exit. Units found a single vehicle accident with heavy damage to the rear of it. 2 victims were found with
serious injuries and aeromedical transport was requested for both. Pennstar 1 and 2 landed on the
northbound side just north of the accident scene. Crews from 15-2 assisted EMS with patient care and
packaging. All units were available shortly after 18:00 hours.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA -- Rescue 41 (Newtown Square) and 15 (Radnor) covering Newtown Square with the
engine 15-2 were dispatched around 1:00am for the accident in the area of St. Davids and Paper Mill Rd. 15-2
arrived shortly there after and found 2 patients that were injured. One of which was trapped in the back seat
requiring extrication.  Rescue 41 arrived next along with EMS. The crews of 15-2 and Rescue 41 went into
service removing two doors on the passeneger side. 41-9A (Simpson) had St. Davids Rd command.

EPHRATA TOWNSHIP, PA -- Early on Monday April 28th, Lancaster County Communications Transmitted BOX
210 to the area of the 2300 Block Of Rothsville Road for the reported PIC involving a horse and buggy. Units
from Engine Company 210 along with EMS from 210(Rothsville) and Medic 12(Lititz) were advised of a Car vs.
Horse and buggy. While units were en route, Communications received a correct location of Main Street and
Rothsville Road in Ephrata Township making it a 12 Ticket. Communications recalled BOX 210 and
Transmitted the 12 BOX, Units from Engine Company 12(Akron) along with EMS from 112(Ephrata) and Medic
4(Ephrata Hospital) were advised of the car vs. horse and buggy at the intersection. D/C 12(Leisey) arrived
on scene reporting a single vehicle crash involving a horse and buggy with no injuries and had EMS
proceed into the scene non emergency. Engine 12-1 arrived and provided lighting as EMS crews did patient
check-ups. All units went ready in about 15 minutes after dispatch with no patients transported, luckily the
horse made it through the crash.

UPPER DARBY, PA -- At 0330 hrs on April 27th Companies 36, 37 and 26 were dispatched for the dwelling fire
at 121 Chatam Road. 36-9 arrived reporting heavy fire 1st floor front of a 2 story twin. Crews from Squrt 36 &
Quint 37 lead off with 1-3/4 water lines while crews from Ladder 26 vented. Interior crews made a quick knock
on the fire holding it to the 1st floor. 36-9 had requested the 2nd alarm for manpower, but quickly made them
available.

SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY -- Around 1400
hours, Nassau County Firecommunications
toned out the South Farmingdale Fire
Department for a house fire at # 15 Lyons
Court off Woodward Parkway. NCPD A 2368
was first arriving with heavy smoke showing
reported people trapped. E971 was first due
and laid out. The fire was well advanced prior
to FD arrival. Command quickly called for a
FAST from North Massapequa, an Engine from
the Village of Farmingdale, 1 Tower and 1
Engine from Bethpage. Bethpage Car 1 (Chief
of Department) came over the air with an
urgent, that the floor has collapsed and the
members are pulling out. At this time, there
was still heavy fire conditions in the
basement. This exterior operations called for
more crews to the scene. The front of the
house was cleared allowing 2 towers to put
their buckets up.

EPHRATA BOROUGH, PA -- On April 30th, PUMPFIRE along with other local media agencies were invited to the
Ephrata Area Rescue Squad Station in Ephrata, PA. The Company invited the media to their house to display
to the public their new equipment acquired through grants and company funds to better serve the
community. During the 2006-2007 year, Ephrata Rescue Squad received two grants, one from Highmark Inc.
and one through a 2006-2007 PEMA grant. The company purchased one Metal Master Oxy/Acetylene cutting
torch, Various updated Confined Space/Rope Rescue Equipment, two KED extrication boards, one 24' ground
ladder and a 14' roof ladder to compliment the equipment on Rescue Squad 115. The company also
purchased through company funds a 2001 14' FSI inflatable boat to add to their water rescue services. The
new equipment shown is in service and ready to serve the community at anytime. The Ephrata Area Rescue
Squad is a 100% Volunteer Rescue Squad that serves all of the Ephrata area and beyond. The company
responds on about 100 call per year ranging from PICS w/Entrapment, Water Rescues and All Technical
Rescues.

Rescue Squad Acquires New Equipment, Lancaster County, PA 04.30.2008
WALKER TOWNSHIP, PA -- Mifflintown Hose Co.
No. 1 was on a vehicle accident at Rt 75 and
Old Rt 22, Walker Twp, Juniata County when
Juniata County 911 dispatched a second
vehicle accident at the intersection of Cedar
Spring Rd and Industrial Park Rd for an MVC,
two vehicles, with fire. Rescue 2 and Engine 2
immediately cleared the first crash leaving PSP
and fire police to handle traffic (roll-back was
just arriving) and responded to the crash with
fire. Rescue 2 arrived first with a vehicle, off
the roadway, fully-involved.  Engine 2 arrived
approximately 30 seconds later. An 1-3/4"
handline was pulled off Engine 2 and quick
work was made of the fire. As the video starts,
the water was just hitting the fire. Co 1 (Port
Royal) was dispatched in place of Co 2
(Mifflintown) because Mifflintown was already
on a crash. Chief 2-3 advised county to let Co 1
continue in when they responded. Engine 1-1
and Tanker 1 arrived on scene and staged. In
the video you will hear the horn blowing. The
fire burnt the inside of the car and melted the
horn wires together. After a little bit of prying
the hood was opened and battery wires were
severed.
