BROOKHAVEN, PA -- BOX 52 was transmitted to 3605 Edgemount Avenue for the fire alarm activation.
Companies arrived on scene with heavy fire to the rear of a commercial building. Command Added Company
65 and Engine 45 to the assignment as crew start to make a knock on the fire. Command reported multiple
hand lines in service with the ladder companies opening the roof. The fire was brought under control in

LIVONIA, NY -- On Sunday, December 2, at 11:09 a.m., Livonia Fire and EMS/ALS responded to a rollover motor
vehicle accident with entrapment on Stone Hill Road in the town of Livonia. Assistant Fire Chief Gary Bowes
was first to arrive on scene, found an SUV in a ditch and confirmed the driver was trapped in the wreckage.
The crew of Engine 256 then put the departments Amkus tool to work, removing the roof to free the 17
year-old male victim. He was transported by EMS to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The Livingston
County Sheriff's Office and Lakeville Fire Department also assisted at the scene with traffic control.

WEST EARL TOWNSHIP, PA -- On December 2nd, The Rescue Local was transmitted to the area of Route 222
North, Just South of Route 322 for the reported PIC w/One Trapped. Police Department arrived shortly after
dispatch reporting one Jeep rolled over with one patient still inside. Engine 313-1 along with Rescue Squad
115 arrived with the patient now self extricated and injured beside the Jeep. Rescue Squad 115 cleared
some trees and other brush around the vehicle as EMS and Engine 313-1 did patient care. The patient was

VOORHEES, NJ -- On Sunday, December 2nd around 0700 Hours: Rescue 663, Squad 662, BLS 6687, BLS 6697
and ALS 41 were dispatched to Evesham and Cooper Road for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
Rescue 663 arrived on location within three minutes of the initial dispatch and discovered a one-car MVA
involving an SUV that had rolled onto its side. Upon further investigation, Rescue 663's crew discovered
that patient had been self-extricated. The crew then proceeded to secure the vehicle while EMS crews
accessed the patient. The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. The accident is

EPHRATA TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Monday, December 3rd The rescue local was transmitted to the area of the
3000 Block Of Rothsville Road for the reported PIC w/Entrapment. Chief 12 arrived on location reporting a
two vehicle PIC with one confined in a compact sedan. With the full rescue assignment en route, Chief 12
took the Rothsville Road command and ordered Engine 12-1 and Squad 12 to start extrication till the arrival
of Rescue Squad 115. Squad 12 arrived shortly after Engine 12-1 deploying their rescue tools and going into
service to free the driver of the vehicle. During rescue operations Rescue Squad 115 arrived and assisted
Company 12 with extrication. Extrication was completed by Company 12 and patient care was released to

Tool Job w/One Confined, Lancaster County, PA 12.03.2007

EPHRATA TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Monday December 3rd around 2215 Hours BOX 310 was transmitted to 972
Newswanger Road in Ephrata Township for the reported Building on fire. Lancaster County Communications
advised units en route of a reported building on fire next door to the callers house. Chief 310 and Engine
310-1 arrived shortly afterwards with heavy fire showing from a large building with strong winds pushing the
fire through out the building. The Crews from Engine 310-1 & Tanker 310 started an attack on the fire as the
rest of the first alarm assignment was arriving on scene. With heavy fire and winds still blowing, command
requested add'l tankers along with the 2nd Alarm to be transmitted to the scene as no hydrants were
available in the area. The fire was knocked down and brought under control in about 2 hours after dispatch.

WEST EARL TOWNSHIP, PA -- On December 4th, BOX 313 was transmitted to the area of Route 772 and
Cocalico Creek Road for the reported barn on fire. Units from 313 arrived with heavy fire showing from the
Charlie/Delta side of the building with the fire rapidly spreading through out the large chicken house.
Command 313 quickly transmitted the 2nd alarm along with multiple tankers added as the first alarm
assignment was still en route. Crews battled through freezing temps as they brought the blaze under control

Volunteers Battle 2 Alarm Barn Fire, Lancaster County, PA 12.04.2007

CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- On December 2, 2007, Medic 25 and the Engine Company were dispatched to
Allegheny and Sedgley for a M.V.A shortly after midnight in North Philadelphia. Crews arrived to find a
telephone pole severely damaged with the vehicle off the roadway. Medic 25 made pt. contact to find 3
occupants injured and one severely trapped. The trapped occupant had critical burns from the vehicle on
fire from the crash. Police stated the vehicle smashed through the telephone pole, rolled over and caught
fire. Deputy 2 and Rescue 1 were added to the box as crews went in to operation with the tools to free the
occupant. The Temple surgical team was special called to the scene to amputate the leg of the trapped
occupant. All 3 occupants involved in the crash were transported to Temple Medical Center. Police stated
the driver was charged with drunk driving after receiving minor injuries. The other occupant who was able
to escape also sustained minor injuries. The trapped occupant who had his leg amputated received severe

CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- On a snowy December 2nd, 2007 at 2 am, Philadelphia Fire Department and
Medics were called to 1027 Arch Street for a person who fell on a roof top of a 10 story Apartments. Upon
arrival crews were informed an occupant was on the roof when the bricks gave way and she fell into an
elevator shaft. Crews could not obtain a visual on the occupant from the roof. Rescue 1, the Collapse Unit,
and an additional Medic were special called to the scene. Command reported they were not sure where the
occupant was located at the present time. Police special called a K9 as well as the swat team with night
vision to attempt and located the occupant. Crews located the occupant, DOA on the ground floor.
Companies were into operation with removing the body from the shaft.

WESTMONT, NJ -- On a snowy December 5th, 2007 around 1 p.m., Station 15-1( Westmont ) was dispatched for
a garage fire at 209 Norwood Ave. Command arrived and reported a detached garage with heavy smoke
showing. The all hands was sounded adding Rescue 1615 as the R.I.T company and the County Fire Marshal.
Engine 1512 arrived and went in operation with a 1 ¾” hand line. Crews quickly located the fire, prior to it
spreading to the rest of the garage. Crews opened up and checked for extension. The home owners stated
they used that part of the garage to make holiday wreaths. They were not home at the time of the fire. No

STRATFORD, NJ -- At 10 am on December 6, 2007, Stratford units were dispatched for a M.V.A on the White
Horse Pike and New Road in the shopping center. Companies arrived to find an occupied school bus into a
support column of a store. The bus was occupied by 30 students from Camden County schools traveling to
the Goodwill Industries which gives job training to handicapped and disabled high school students. Multiple
ambulances were called in to transport students who sustained minor injuries. The Rescue Company from
Cherry Hill was called along with several other rescues to shore the building as the bus knocked off the
support column. The bus driver stated he was making a turn near the building when he lost control on the

CITY OF CAMDEN, NJ -- On December 5th 207, Engine 9, Rescue 1, Battalion 2 and EMS were dispatched for a
M.V.A Rescue at Freemont and 33rd Street around 4 p.m. EMS arrived to find a work truck vs. an occupied
school bus. Searches on the school bus found approx 10 kids who were not seriously injured. The initial
evaluation of the truck found the driver severely trapped behind the steering wheel. Engine 9 arrived and
stretched a line for precaution. Rescue 1 arrived and went in operation with the tools. The Rescue Company
was in operation for approx 1 hour working to free the trapped occupant. Camden EMS along with the Medic
unit treated and transported the trapped driver to Cooper Hospital. The other passenger in the van was
transported as well. The children on the school bus were either picked up by parents or transported to a
local hospital. Police stated the believed the driver of the truck was intoxicated at the time of the

WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- Just after 13:00 hours the 1st alarm assignment was struck for 300 Willow
Valley Lakes Dr at the Lakes Manor for a reported building fire. County Communications advised of a 9-1-1
call received reporting a fire in apartment E325. First arriving Engine 5-12-1 encountered moderate smoke in
the D, E, and F corridors and maintenance reported that all occupants of the E and F wings had been
evacuated. Upon reaching the fire apartment Engine 5-12-1’s crew led by Chief Reese encountered heavy
smoke when they cracked the door. The high rise pack was deployed along with 300’ of 3" line and Engine 1’
s crew along with the truck crew entered the apartment to extinguish the fire and search the apartment.
Crews found a top of stove fire that had spread to the cabinets and overhead exhaust unit. Thanks to the
quick work of a maintenance person the fire was kept in check by a dry chemical extinguisher and prevented
the potential of a catastrophic loss. All searches were negative and the 2nd alarm was brought in due to the
large amount of smoke throughout the building. Multiple fans were utilized in different areas to remove the
smoke and to bring the co levels back down to 0. Once all smoke and co levels were removed the incident
was placed under control at 14:15. Thanks to all the assisting companies including Lampeter, Quarryville,
Lancaster City, Lafayette, Lancaster Township, Conestoga, West Willow, Millersville, and Refton. SVEMS and
LEMSA handled the EMS sector. Thanks also to standby companies Gordonville and Gap. Deputy 5-12 M
Reese had the command. 5-12 units cleared the scene at 15:09 hours. Later in the evening the Rescue
assisted 5-8 on a reported building at Rosies Drive In on Lancaster Pike. A birds nest caught fire on a
lighting fixture and units were on scene a short time. The company was also dispatched to a vehicle accident
assist to Lampeter in which the 5-12 units were recalled due to negative injuries.

2 Alarm Nursing Home Fire, Lancaster County, PA 12.08.2007

NEW HAVEN, CONN -- New Haven firefighters received an early morning wake up call in the form of a fire in
the downtown business district. A fire alarm was transmitted around 6:45am for an automatic alarm located
on 834 Chapel St, in the city's Ninth Ward District. The actual fire was located on 29 Center St, one block over
in a club called the Brass Monkey Saloon. First in units found heavy fire through the roof of a one story
commercial building. A half hour into the fire the entire roof caved in under the weight of heavy air
conditioning units. Firefighters poured water from tower ladders and nearby buildings into the fire. The fire
also communicated into a three story brick attached, with stores on the first floor. This building was located
at 834 Chapel St. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire in this building with the use of multiple hand
lines and an interior attack. Three alarms were struck bringing almost all city units to the scene. Mutual aid
was called in from North Haven and West Haven to cover city stations. The fire took about three hours to
control. The cause of the fire is unknown. Five businesses were destroyed and approximately One hundred
residents were evacuated from a nearby apartment building. There were no injuries reported.

PLYMOUTH, PA -- Units were dispatched around 8:55 hours on 12-12-2007 on the 1300 block of
Conshohocken road, DC 43 arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke in the area , about 9:03 DC 43 found
the source of the smoke at 1310 Conshohocken road @ Vento Inc , The fire was found in a
warehouse200x100 fully involved in the rear, DC 43 asked for the 2nd alarm to be struck Chier 43 placed the

2 Alarm Building Fire, Montgomery County, PA 12.12.2007

GREENVILLE, NY -- On Wednesday December 12th at approx 22:00 hours Greenville Fire, Greenville Rescue,
and Greene County Medic were dispatched to a 2 car Personal Injury Accident on Red Mill Road in the
Greenville Fire Dist. Upon arrival by first Medical Officer and Fire Chief they found a car severly damaged
into a tree. Due to the face that Greenville Rescue was un available due to a previous call Cairo Ambulance
and Durham Ambulance were dispatched as well as a second Medic to the scene. Upon further evaluation by
EMS a Helocopter was dispatched to the scene for the passenger of the car. the passenger was traped and
required prolonged extrication by firefighters. the driver was thrown from the car and was walking around
when units arrived. Due to weather conditions the helocopter was unable to fly and transport the patient.
Westerlo Ambulance was Dispatched to Stand-by at the town line for Greenville. After a lenghty extrication
Both patients were transported Pri 1 to the local Trauma Facility by Cairo Ambulance and Durham Ambulance.

WEST HAVEN, CONN -- The driver of a Chevy Suburban lost control on snow and ice covered roads and
plowed into the Xtra Mart gas station around one thirty this morning. The vehicle narrowly missed the pumps
and crashed into the building located at 750 First Avenue. The impact of the crash set off a fire involving the
car and building. The station attendant escaped unharmed, however one victim was found during the
primary search. He was removed by firefighters and taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown. It is
unclear whether he was the driver or a customer Two lines were stretched and operated as members of
Truck 22 took the roof and performed topside ventilation. The fire was knocked down in about fifteen

CITY OF LEWISTOWN, PA -- Wintry conditions across PA today was the result of this accident in Lewistown PA.
The call was dispatched at 3:20pm for a dump truck roll over in Derry Township. Crews from Highland Park
Hose Co(Special Forces),City Hook & Ladder arrived on scene to find that a Penn Dot plow truck left is bed
up in the air and caught the bridge. The driver Escaped injury and the roadway was opened a few hours

SOMERDALE, NJ -- On December 8, 2007 at 4 p.m, a dwelling fire was reported in Somerdale at 27 Ogg Ave.
Companies were dispatched and while responding where advised of a jumper from the 2nd floor. Command
arrived and reported a 2 ½ story single family dwelling with heavy smoke from the 2nd floor. The All Hands
was sounded as crews went in operation with a 1 ¾” hand line to the 2nd floor. Crews extinguished the fire
and opened up to check for extension. The fire victim was transported to an area hospital. The fire was
placed under control at 4:35. The Camden County Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation.

STREET, MD -- On Friday 12/14/07 at 2155hrs. Box 613 was struck for Whiteford VFC (Co.6) and mutual aid
companies Bel Air (Co.3), Darlington (Co.9), Norrisville (Co.10) & York Co. PA Fawn Grove (Sta.56) were
dispatched for a building fire in the 3500blk. of Millers Rd. At 2156hrs. E612 & Chief 6 called enroute and
were advised by Dispatch that the caller was reporting a working garage fire. At 2204hrs, E612 & Chief 6
arrived and reported a 30'x30' attach garage fully involved. Crews deployed 3 attack lines and prevented a
small amount of smoke & fire damage to the dwelling. The 1 alarm blaze was declared under control at
2235hrs. The garage was converted into a wood shop and contained various amounts of wood materials &
products. Crews carry out heavy overhaul operations for 2 1/2 hours. Two firefighters were injured during
the fire. One Co.3 firefighter suffered a leg burn from a down power line and one Co.6 firefighter suffered an
ankle injury. Both firefighter were transported to area hospitals by Whiteford EMS and released. The MD Fire
Marshal Office is handling the investigation. York Co. Delta-Cardiff (Sta.57) covered Co. 6. Units cleared at

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- On Mon. night around 19:30 hrs Company 82, Squrt 81, Medic 83, Chester 11 ( B/C)
responded to 7th & Sproul St. for the vacant building fire. This was 2nd time in this week the CFD responded
to this row of vacant tax payers. This time the fire went to a 2nd alarm. Units worked with master streams for
