OXON HILL, MD -- BOX 42 was transmitted to the 5000 Block of Leland Drive for the reported house on fire.
Companies arrived with heavy fire showing from the basement and started an interior attack. As crews
entered they found the floors have started to collapse as the fire countinued to burn through out the
house. Crews backed out and went heavy duty and had most of the fire K/D in about 45 Mins. Firefighters
found tow dogs priority 4 in the basement, One FF was transported to a local hospital for a check up.

DOUGLASS TOWNSHIP, PA -- Just shortly after 1800Hrs. the alarm was transmitted for a building fire at Berks
Cement Products in Gilbertsville. With Station 67 (Gilbertsville) Berks Ladder 15 (Boyertown) and Berks 17
(New Berlinville) on the 1st. dispatch, Douglass PD arrived on location confirming fully involved building
and the second alarm was quickly struck. With heavy snow falling and frigid temperatures delaying
firefighters response and numerous buildings on fire with explosions being heard miles away 67 Command
requested for additional companies and manpower. Units were still on as of 2100Hrs. Stations on scene

PENNSVILLE,NJ- Units were dispatched to 948 S. Broadway for a reported building fire at Del Val Tires on
February 12, 2007 around 9:57 pm. First arriving units encountered heavy fire conditions. Command arrived
and struck the all hands and special called 3 tankers. Minutes later the Large Diameter task force was
dispatched as well as foam units.Crews battles the building which was fully involved as well as hundreds of
piles of tires located outside the building. The 2nd alarm was transmitted as well as the 3rd alarm approx. 1
hour into the job. Crews had 3 Ladder Pipes set up and put in operation as well as multiple hand lines. The
4th Alarm was transmitted shortly after midnight. Crews fought the blaze for hours. Visible fire was seen for
miles. The owner of the business stated she never expected a fire like this to break out in her building. The

LAUREL, MD -- BOX 10 Was transmitted to the Bay-N-Surf Restaurant for the reported building on fire.
Company 10 arrived O/S reporting a working fire inside the restaurant. Command quickly upgraded the
assignment and Transmitted the 2nd Alarm. Companies battled heavy fire inside the restaurant as fire broke
through the roof, Interior crews kept with an aggressive attack. Crew battled both the fire and sub-zero

MOUNT JOY BOROUGH, PA -- At 2138Hrs. Lancaster County Communications transmitted BOX 75 to 74 E.
Main Street for an apartment building fire. Chief 75-2 went on air and was informed of multiple calls and
possible entrapment. Additionally, PD was on scene reporting heavy fire. Chief 75-2 arrived and reported
smoke showing and requested and additional engine and truck. As incoming companies were arriving and
hooking up to hydrants they soon realized that some were frozen. This prompted Command 75 then
requested a second alarm including tankers. Tense moments transpired as a crew operating on the interior
reported a mayday, striking a mayday task force response. All of the members were accounted for and
Command 75 called for a third alarm as fire had now extended to the exposures. Originating in a 2 story,
occupied, brick, middle of the row, multiple dwelling quickly extending to exposures on both sides and an
unknown type structure in the rear. All companies in were in service with master streams and despite a
snow covered fire ground, cold winds, and water problems, crews made an outstanding job on keeping the
fire from spreading further. The fire, which affected 9 buildings, left dozens of people homeless and
brought numerous companies from northwest Lancaster, Dauphin, and Lebanon Counties. During overhaul
firefighters found one deceased occupant in the rubble. Command 75 placed the fire under control at 0106

LOWER POTTSGROVE, PA -- At 1615 units were dispatch to a vehicle accident with rescue and ejection on
North Keim St in Lower Pottsgrove. Station 59 ( Ringing Hill) and Rescue 69 ( Pottstown) worked at the
scene while a crew from Engine 58 ( Sanatoga ) responded to cover the landing zone for multiple
helicopters for the patients. Units cleared about and hour later and PD and fire police remained on location

SHARPSBURG BOROUGH, PA -- Shortly after 2pm on Friday, February 16th, Firefighters were dispatched to a
bedroom on fire located in the 2000 block of Middle Street in Sharpsburg borough. The first arriving units
found a 2 ½ story wood frame home with heavy smoke and fire showing. A 2nd alarm was quickly requested
and after a short time all firefighters were ordered to evacuate the structure. Firefighters performed
defensive operations until conditions were safe enough to re-enter the structure. Again, interior conditions
deteriorated quickly and everyone was evacuated from the structure. The fire was eventually extinguished
several hours later in the freezing cold temperatures. There is no word on what sparked the blaze and the
Allegheny County Fire Marshals office is now investigating. There were no reported injuries.

CHILLUM, MD -- BOX 44 was transmitted to the area of Sargent Road & Torrey Place for the reported PIC
w/People trapped. Co 44 arrived with a 2 vehicle crash with one overturned. As crews started to work one
patient was trapped and not breathing in the overturned vehicle. Rescue Squad 1 along with Paramedic
Engine 44 extricated the patient from the vehicle. The victim was a trauma code and was transported by

MAHANOY CITY, PA -- On February 16, 2007 at 23:30 hours the Mahanoy City Fire Department, Frackville-
Goodwill Ladder 43-20, Mahanoy City Ambulance were dispatched to D street for a possible structure fire.
The residents from nearby homes seen smoke coming from the garages in the alley. The Mahanoy City
Police arrived in minutes and found flames shooting from the garages. The police officer secured the area
and waited for the fire department’s response. The fire continued to spread quickly and moved through
out the connected garages. Humane Engine 451, Citizens Engine 454 and West End Rescue Engine 465
arrived on scene and made an exterior attack to stop the fire. The Engines established water supply from
hydrants a block away. The attack crews advanced large attack lines to knock down the spreading fire. A
portable deck gun was set up to help in the defensive attack. Citizens Tower Ladder 456 staged on the side
street and sent its crew to the fire building. Truck crews enter into the garages next door to search for
extension. The remaining two Mahanoy City Fire Companies responded and stood by on scene. Frackville
Ladder 43-20 responded to the scene and was sent to the Citizens station to be on standby. The fire was
under controlled by 12 AM and by 01:00 hours all units left the scene with no rekindles. The fire chief
believes the fire started in the one garage and may appear to be suspicious in origin. The fire chief
reported that there were no injuries of fire fighters and the garages were a total loss.

WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 54 was transmitted to the area of 426 Beaver Valley Pike for the
reported PIC w/Entrapment. Chief 54 arrived O/S with in minutes to report a 2 vehicle crash with one patient
confined and one trapped. Chief 54 took the Beaver Valley Pike command and ordered Rescue Squad 512 to
deploy their tools and go into full rescue operations on arrival. Engine Company 54 controled hazards and
assisted in rescue operations. All patients were extricated and in care of EMS in about 10 minutes.

HONEY BROOK TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 33 was transmitted to 50 Zooks Drive for the reported house on fire.
Assistant 33 (K. Jackson Sr.) arrived on location and had a working fire in the roof area of a 2 story wood
frame and was getting reports of 3 school aged children missing. Engine Company 33 along with Ladder 69's
crew assisted with fire supression, and ventilation. Command requested the Tanker task force to the scene
which brung units in from Lancaster County, around the same time all 3 children were found and were ok.
Engine 69-5 assisted with water supply & Rescue Squad 69 took a driveway three doors down, and set up
for cascade. The tanker task force was supplying water to the the incident while Engine 69-1 established a
tanker fill site at Station 33. All fire was knocked and was under control in about 30 minutes.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- At 0555 hours, Prince George's County Rescue Squad 14 was dispatched
to northbound I-95 at Old Gunpowder Road for the personal injury accident with reports of one overturned.
First arriving units reported they had one overturned with one trapped underneath the car. Rescue Squad
14 with 8 volunteers arrived and immediately started rescue efforts. The squad crew first stabilized the car
with rescue struts and cribbing. Since it was found that the patient’s arm was pinned under the car, the
hydraulic spreaders were placed under the vehicle in the area of the sunroof from the interior, and the
patient’s arm was quickly freed. The patient climbed out of the vehicle on his own initiative and was
transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to a local trauma center. Rescue Squad 14 was ready for

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- At 1127 hours, Prince George's County Rescue Squad 14 (Berwyn
Heights) was alerted to northbound I-95 at Powder Mill Road for the personal injury accident with reports of
one overturned. While Rescue Squad 14 with 6 volunteers and Chief 14A (McCoy) were responding, units
reported on scene with the correct location of northbound I-95 at Sandy Spring Road and confirmed there
was one trapped. The units from 14 arrived on scene and sized up the scene. What they found was a sport
utility vehicle overturned with its roof resting on the guard rail. The squad men started extrication efforts
by stabilizing the SUV. Due to the precarious position of the SUV, rescue struts were used in the rear of the
car and two box cribs were constructed under the front of the car. After the car was stabilized sufficiently,
both doors on the driver’s side and the B-post were removed. Spreaders were then placed in the area of
the driver’s side B-post to replace the support provided by the B-post which was removed. Finally, the A-
post and roof, back to the B-post, were removed and the driver’s seat was reclined, creating vast access to
the patient. The patient was then removed from the vehicle on a backboard, packaged, and loaded into the
awaiting Maryland State Police Trooper 8 for air transport to a local trauma center. Extrication was
completed in less than 10 minutes upon the arrival of Rescue Squad 14. The units from 14 were ready for

EAST DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 57 was transmitted to 111 Laurel Drive for the reported house on fire,
Companies 57, 51 & Medic 77-9 were alerted to the assignment. LCWC gave incoming units the update of
fire coming up through the floor in the dinning room, a 2nd call from the home reporting fire now coming
from the windows. Lt. 57-1(P.J. Dalgaard) arrived O/S reporting fire showing from the Bravo side of a large 2
1/2 story farm house. Chief 57-2(T. Ryan) arrived shortly afterwards taking command and ordering Engine
57-4 to deploy two hand lines on arrival. Interior crews reported heavy fire in the basement and on 1st
Division and spreading to the 2nd Division and Attic area's. Tower 57 arrived and started venting the
structure as Engine 51-1 pulled a 3rd handline and started working the 2nd Division. Crews from 57 & 51
made quick work of the fire through out the balloon type structure as is spread to all Division in the house.
Tanker 59 was later requested to the scene for water supply. Crews remained on the scene for about 1.5

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD -- Around 1720Hrs, the 26 BOX was transmitted for the reported building fire at 1915
Brooks Drive. Chief 26A was first arriving and reported smoke showing, all units Level One Operations.
Interior crews reported heavy fire on the 3rd Division, to the 4th and cock loft area. Command requested
the Second Alarm be transmitted as the fire continuted to spread. Minutes later command requested the
3rd Alarm be transmitted. A total of 22 units were damaged, 109 people were displaced from this fire.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA -- The Conshohocken Fire Dept. was dispatched for a dwelling fire with multiple calls.
First arriving officer reports, M/O/R with heavy smoke and fire showing. Command struck the second alarm
due to heavy fire on first floor and extension to the "D" exposure. An additional engine and ladder was
requested to the scene due to fire in the walls and roof areas of 2 houses. No injuries were reported.

CUMRU TOWNSHIP, PA -- 22:35 Tower 70, Engine 69, Engine 42 were transmitted to 100 Hill Lane, Cumru Twp,
Berks County for a Structure Fire. caller reported "The whole house is on fire" Second calls reporting
explosions inside and wires down. 70-12 (J. Lutz) arrived on scene reporting 2 story SFD Wood Frame well
off. 70-11 arrived and set up command. Engine 42 made the driveway followed by Engine 69. All other units
remained at the bottom of the driveway due to ice/LDH on the hill. Two porta-tanks set up at bottom of
driveway and Water Shuttle began with tankers. Exterior operations from the beginning, collapse perimeter
maintained. Extensive overhaul required, mopped up and cleared. 04:30Hrs. During this call, approx.
23:30Hrs., Company 23(on stand-by) got hit for a structure in their local. Units arrived to find fire in the front
of the house, quick knock made, overhaul and units cleared. At 05:12(less than an hour after clearing the
first structure) Company 23, 70, 2, 7, got hit out for a Structure fire at the location they were earlier, PD on

NETHER PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, PA -- Companies 65, 51 and RIT 23 were dispatched to Morris Lane in
Nether Providence Twp. for a house fire. 6512a arrived first and had smoke showing from the 2nd floor.
E651 placed an 1 3/4 hand line in service while the crews from E655 did a search and opened up. The crews
from 51 checked for extension and supplied E651. the fire was knocked in under a half hour with all hands

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL -- Eng. 319, Squad 7, 3 and The City of Pensacola fire were dispatched to a reported
PIC with entrapment at the intersection of Davis Highway and Airport blvd. Eng. 319 arrived with ems
minutes later reporting 2 patients with confirmed entrapment. Eng. 712 & Squad 7 arrived shortly afterwards
to assist Eng. 319 with the extrication of the patients. Both patients were extricated in a matter of minutes
by the crews operating. All companies cleared in about 45 minutes after extrication was completed.

SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, NJ -- At 18:15 the Rescue Box was alerted to 225 New Freedom Rd for an
accident with one trapped. Chief 1710 (S. Pratt) arrived to find a vehicle in a ditch, on its side, with its roof
up against a large tree. The patient was conscious and alert, but heavily entrapped. R/E 1712 (B. Pratt)
arrived first due and began stabilization efforts with the Paratech Struts. Once complete the crew went to
work with the hydraulic tools. E 1713 (D’Amico) and U 1718 arrived and provided support to the rescue
operation. E 1722 stretched a 1¾” protection line. Due to the position of the patient, personnel had to work
the vehicle from three sides. Members worked vigorously for 50 minutes using various hydraulic, electric
and pneumatic tools to free the patient. Once extricated the patient was packaged by company members

CAMDEN CITY, NJ -- On Tuesday February 27th, 2007 at approx 1350 Hrs Camden Firefighters were dispatch
to the 900 Blk of Vine Street for a reported Dwelling Fire. Companies from Engine 6, Eng 1, Eng 11, Ladder
1, Lad 3, Rescue 1, and Battalion 2 were dispatched to the assignment. Engine 6 arrived to find a 2 story
MOR Vacant heavily involved and extending to exposures on both the Delta and Bravo side. First Due
companies requested the 2nd and 3rd Alarm to be stuck which brought the remainder of the City Fire units.
Command at 10 mins in reported they were using all companies and trying to stop the fire spread from the
rest of the row dwellings. Ladder companies went to the roof to cut vent holes for the interior crews who
utilized multiple handlines to extinguish the fire. Command requested and Additional Ladder Co., which
brought Quint 1-1 to the scene as the RIT. Crews also performed primary and secondary searches to check
for any occupants that still may have been in the dwellings. Car 3 (Price) requested the 4th alarm which
brought additional surrounding communities to the scene such as, Engine 11-42, Ladder 3-3, and Tower
13-24. The fire was placed under control within 1 hour and 30 mins with no injuries to civilians, but one
firefighter hand injury. Camden City PD and Fire Marshalls are investigating the cause of the fire.

SHARPSBURGH BOROUGH, PA -- On February 28th, shortly before noon, a Sharpsburg Police Officer Tom
Stelitano spotted smoke coming from a 2nd story window of a duplex while on patrol in the 900 block of Clay
Street in Sharpsburg Borough. He quickly notified Allegheny County 911 and requested the fire department
be dispatched. He then entered the home to find a 6 year old girl crying on the first floor. He quickly
grabbed her and placed her in the back of his patrol car. The girl told the officer that her father was still
inside. He went back inside and found the father on the 2nd floor of the home trying to douse the flames
himself. Officer Stelitano managed to get the father out along with the family dog while the first fire units
arrived. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and managed to stop the fire from extending into
the other side of the duplex. About an hour later, firefighters pulled out a 3 foot alligator from the home,
which was also a family pet. The alligator was placed in the back of an ambulance to keep it warm. It took
about an hour to bring the blaze under control. There were no reported injuries and no cause has been
