CITY OF CAMDEN, NJ -- On February 1, 2008 a dwelling was dispatched at 7 AM in Camden City at 1131 Louis
Street. Squad 7 arrived and reported a 2 story end of the row ordinary, with heavy fire showing from Division
C. Squad 7 stretched a line to the 2nd floor as the Ladder Company threw ground ladders. Rescue 1
performed a search as Engine 8 established a water supply. Companies battles heavy fire on the 2nd floor
rear bedroom and extinguished it without extension. No injuries were reported on the fire ground.

All Hands House Fire, Camden County, NJ 02.01.2008

LANCASTER TOWNSHIP, PA -- At 16:31 Harmony Station 23 and Harmony EMS Station 62 was dispatched to a
structure fire at 310 Little Creek Road. Chief 23 was first to arrive and updated incoming crews that he had a
working fire in the garage and beginning to extend to the first floor. Engine 23-2 was next to arrive, upon
arrival crews deployed two 1 3/4 handlines, one to attack the fire in the garage and the other to the front
door. Chief 23 then requested Zelienople Station 22 and Evans City Station 20 to assist at the scene. Engine
22-2 was third to arrive and they established the water supply by laying approximately 1000 feet of 4 inch to
the scene. Tanker 20 and Engine 20 arrived shortly there after. The bulk of the fire was knocked down
within minutes after the arrival of the first crews. While initiating a primary search crews located and
removed the homeowner's cat. Crews remained on scene until approximately 20:00 hours. A great job was

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- At approximately 03:45 hrs the companies were dispatched 75 West 9th Street Liberty
Kenworth for a fire alarm. Company 82 arrived on location with nothing showing. While checking the
exterior of the building they noticed a working fire in the shop area. Crews began to force entry and stretch
hand-lines while Chester-11 called for the second alarm. Crews remained on location until approximately

GLASSBORO, NJ -- At 06:30 hours on February 3, 2008 in Glassboro, a dwelling was reported on East Blvd by
a driver passing by the dwelling. Police arrived and confirmed the dwelling was fully involved with possible
people trapped. Glassboro Fire Units arrived and went in a defensive operation with heavy fire through the
roof. Companies placed multiple hand lines in operation. The occupants were accounted for and not home at
the time of the fire. The Glassboro Police Department and Gloucester County Fire Marshals Office have the

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- At 01:51 hrs the companies were dispatched to 7th and Upland Streets for a building
fire. On arrival it was reported to be a 2 1/2 story vacant with heavy fire showing first and second floor rear.
Fire quickly extended to the roof so master streams were put in service. Companies remained on location

RIDLEY TOWNSHIP, PA -- At 21:40 Homes VFC in Ridley Township along with Medic Ridley 7, Ambulance 49-7
and 70-7 were dispatched to South ave and Glenn Rd for an accident with entrapment. 43-9 (J. Hudyma)
arrived first and found a 2 car crash with negative entrapment. The crews from Rescue 43 assisted the EMS
and secured the hazards. The company remained on the scene while the tow truck secured the vehicles.

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- At 02:13 hrs the companies were
dispatched to the area of 9th and McDowell for a working building
fire. Chester-11 arrived on location and reported a two story
middle of the row with heavy fire showing first floor side one.
Company 82 advanced two 13/4 hand lines into the building and
Company 83 vented the second floor and completed the primary
search. Companies remained on location until 04:40 hrs.

EAST DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- During the early morning hours of February 11th, BOX 513 was transmitted
to the 1600 Block of Lancaster Pike for the reported building on fire. Units from 513 arrived on scene with a
working building fire and went to work. Units from companies 513 and 57 had the fire knocked and under

CHAMBERSBURG BOROUGH, PA -- At 1530 hrs. units from Company 1 and Station 4 were alerted for an Auto
Accident with reported entrapment at the intersection of S Main Street and Mill Road in the Borough of
Chambersburg. Arriving units found two autos that had went head-on with one subject trapped. Members
from Station 4 began the tasks of removing a door and lifting the dash. After extrication was complete two
patients were transported to the landing zone where Stat-Medevac 12 and 13 transported the patients to a

HOPEWELL, NJ -- On Feb. 9, 2008 Hopewell fire department Cumberland county New Jersey station 21 along
with Greenwich fire company station 14 were dispatched to Shepherds mill rd. for a reported structure fire.
21-31 arrived on location with smoke showing. With these conditions Bridgeton's ambulance squad 7 was
added to the call. It took about an hour to place the fire under control. Units responding were 21-01, 21-03,

VOORHEES, NJ -- On Saturday February 9th around 21:00 hours, Stations 662 and 663 were dispatched to
Evesham Road and Centennial Boulevard for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Rescue 663, Quint 663, Engine 663
and BLS 6697 were the first units to arrive on location and reported a two-car MVA with multiple patients.
Upon arrival, 6697 established EMS command and requested additional BLS units to assist at the incident.
Rescue 663 and Engine 663's crews assisted the BLS units in treating the patients while Quint 663’s crew
stretched a 1 ¾ hand-line as a precaution. Squad 662 was also on location assisting the crews. One patient
was flown via Med-Evac Helicopter to Cooper Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries. The accident is
currently under investigation by the Voorhees Township Police Department.

HADDAM, CT -- Haddam fire company was Alerted to a structure fire a little before noon with dispatch taking
multiple calls reporting heavy fire from the garage. Haddam units arrived to find heavy fire conditions and
the garage well off with heavy extending into the rear of the home. A second alarm was struck for Haddam as
well as a full Assignment from the Chester Fire Department. Rapid Intervention was provided by the Essex
Fire Department. Fire caused heavy damage to the garage and rear of the house, extensive overhaul was

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- Engine 83-1, Tower 82 and the chief went to the 1100 block of Concord Avenue for a
reported PIC. On arrival crews found a one car PIC with no one around. After doing a quick scene
assessment we found approx 6 bullet holes in the rear of the car. Crews were on the scene for about 3
hours while the police investigated the scene. About 2 1/2 hours into Capt Barbato called the tower back to

EPHRATA TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Saturday afternoon, The Rescue Local was transmitted to 109 Bethany Road for
the reported PIC with entrapment. Units from Akron (12), Ephrata Area Rescue Squad (115) & EMS Units from
Ephrata (112), Ephrata Hospital Medic (4) were advised of a van that hit a utility pole and rolled several times
with a person trapped. D/C 12(Leisey) arrived on scene with a one vehicle crash with the patient self
extricated and walking around. D/C 12 took the Bethany Road command and recalled Rescue Squad 115 due
to no rescue services being needed. Ambulance 112-1 & Medic 4 assisted the patient into the Ambulance
and transported the Priority 3 Patient to ECH. Engine 12-1 remained on the scene and control hazards while

EPHRATA BOROUGH, PA -- Late Saturday night BOX 16 was transmitted to 834 Dawn Avenue for the reported
apartment fire at the Cloister garden Apartments. Companies 16, 15 and EMS from 112 were advised of
reported fire in a first floor apartment, D/C 16 arrived on scene reporting a kitchen fire with smoke through
out the apartment. Engine 16-1 arrived with the fire already knocked by Police Department and set up PPV
while the crews checked for extension. Command 16 Held the assignment to Engine 16-1, Squad 16-1 & EMS
for about 30 minutes, no injuries were reported.

CITY OF CHESTER, PA -- On Wed. afternoon Eng 83, Eng & Ladder 82, Chester 11, & Medics 81 & 100 were
Disp to 1000 block of W. 7th St for the building fire. As Companies were responding Fireboard notified units
that there was entrapment. Eng 83 had heavy fire showing 2nd floor and went in service with an 1 3/4
handline. Company 82 opened up & did a search. The victim was in the 2nd bathroom. The victim was
removed and transport to Crozer Hosp. Companies were in service for about 2 hours.

CONESUS, NY -- A 15-year-old Conesus boy fell about 75 feet into a ravine on Tuesday, February 12. The
victim was hiking with his friend, also 15, and two dogs in woods off Mission Road. The victim lost his footing
and slipped into the ravine. Rescue crews from Conesus and Livonia Fire/EMS worked for about two hours
to pull the teen out. The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, with injuries that
included possible broken ribs. The Ontario County Rope Rescue Team, Livingston County Sheriff's Office

CITY OF RICHMOND, VA -- On Sunday February 10th at 05:20 hours, City of Richmond VA Fire was dispatched
to a house fire on Northside ave. Quints 15,14,16, Engine 5, Rescue Company 2, and Battalion Chief 1
responded. Quint 15 was first due and reported a fully involved 2 story wood frame residential with
exposures on sides B and D. Crews immediately went into defensive mode. Battalion 1 arrived on-scene and
requested the assignment to be filled which brought Quint 10, Rescue 1 and Battalion 2. Crews made a
relatively quick knock down and saved both exposures with minimal damage. Fortunately no one was home

ONTARIO COUNTY, NY -- The East Bloomfield/Holcomb Fire Department was dispatched in the afternoon
hours of February 16, to Crosman Arms manufacturing on Routes 5&20 for a reported structure fire. Ontario
County Car 1, Coordinator Jeff Harloff, immediately informed dispatch that he was 5 miles out with heavy
smoke showing. Fire units arrived on scene and reported a working fire in the wood shop area, and
requested mutual aid from the West Bloomfield, Ionia, and Bristol Fire Departments. Additional mutual aid
was requested from the Richmond Fire Department for their quint, Victor FD for an engine and rescue and
the Ontario County mobile air unit. The Ontario County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene. There

Industrial Building Fire, Ontario County, NY 02.16.2008

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE -- Station 82 was dispatched along with station 70 and SCEMS to assist Rehoboth
beach with a working house fire. First arriving crews found heavy fire in an attached garage with extension
into the house. Station 82 crews assisted with fire suppression, roof ventilation and overhaul. One occupant
of the home was treated and transported for smoke inhalation. Also a Rehoboth Beach Firefighter went into
cardiac arrest on scene. This was witnessed by the RIT team from Bethany Beach who immeditly began CPR.
They connected him to the AED which advised to shock. One shock was delivered which restored heart beat
and breathing. Other firefighters from Rehoboth and Lewes, including a couple of off-duty paramedics,
assisted with the care of their fallen brother. EMS 100 (paramedic supervisor) quickly arrived on scene and
the firefighter was transported to BMC shortly after. Good Job to all involved with the fire operations and

units arrived with heavy fire showing from a 1 story building. Units on scene went into service with exterior
attack, crews remained on scene for about 4 hours.

EPHRATA TOWNSHIP, PA -- The Rescue Local was transmitted in the early afternoon hours to the 2800 Block
of Rothsville Road for the reported PIC with one rolled over. As Units from 12 (Akron) and EMS units from
112(ECAA), 210 (RVFC), and Medic 4 (ECH) were marking up, LCWC advised units of a PIC with one rolled
over. D/C 12(Leisey) arrived on location reporting a single vehicle crash with multiple patients involved. D/C
12 took the Rothsville Road Command and requested a 3rd BLS from 112 as they had six teenagers involved
in the crash. Engine 12-1 & Squad 12 arrived taking hazard control, then assisted EMS with the patients and
sign offs. The vehicle involved slid over 800' before coming to a rest on the west side travel lane of

CITY OF RICHMOND, VA -- On Thursday Feb. 21st at 03:30 City of Richmond crews were dispatched to the
1400 block of Grove Ave for a working house fire. Quint 10 arrived first and reported heavy fire on the 2nd
and 3rd floor of a 3 story row home with exposures on the B and D sides. The B side exposure was a 3 story
occupied apartment building with one room on the 3rd floor already involved. Quint 10 placed two 1 3/4 hand
lines in-service and started fire attack in the main fire building. Rescue 2 assisted #10 with fire attack and
search/rescue of the fire building. Quints 6 and 5 were assigned to fire attack and evacuation of the B side
exposure. Batt. 2 arrived on-scene and immediately requested the 2nd alarm. Crews were soon ordered to
evacuate the main fire building due to floor and ceiling collapse. Companies went into defensive mode of
the main fire building. Fire eventually spread into the D side exposure and into a 2nd D side exposure. A 3rd
alarm was requested due to the amount of fire and temperatures being in the lower 20's. Responding
companies were 1st alarm- Quints 10, 12, 5, 6, Rescue 2 and Battalion Chief 2. 2nd alarm- Quints 14, 18,
Rescue 1, Batt. 1 and air light 11. 3rd alarm- Quints 1 and 16. While crews were taking care of hot spots and
overhaul, another working fire was dispatched several blocks away on the north side of the city. The 2nd fire

EPHRATA BOROUGH, PA -- On Tuesday around 1130Hrs, The Rescue Local was transmitted to the intersection
of Route 272 and Grandview Drive with reported people trapped. Units from Company 16, Rescue Squad
Company 115 and EMS units from 112 & Medic 4 went en route with the add'l information from
Communications of a two vehicle PIC with two people trapped. Chief 16 arrived on scene reporting a two
vehicle crash in front of Ephrata Hospital with two patients confined and held all units on the assignment.
Engine 16-2 and Rescue Squad 115 went to work along with EMS to help the injured people from the vehicle.
Both patients were transported to Lancaster General Hospital by Ambulances 112-1 & 112-2. Ambulance 17
arrived later and staged as Engine 16-1 went ready and was transmitted for the Working Fire Dispatch with

EPHRATA TOWNSHIP, PA -- At Exactly 1200Hrs. on Tuesday afternoon, BOX 15 was transmitted to 20 Mohler
Church Road at Denver Cold Storage for the reported building fire. Units from Company 15 were advised of
heavy smoke through out the large storage building, Chief 15 arrived on scene moments later with smoke
showing from the Delta/Charlie side of the building. Chief 15 took the 15 Command and advised Engine 15-1
of a possible working fire on the second floor of the building with an unknown source. Engine 15-1 deployed
their apartment line and placed one 1 3/4 line into service into the building finding a working trash can fire.
Engine 16-1 was added to the assignment as part of the Working Fire Dispatch for manpower as crews from
Company 15 worked to vent the smoke and remove the trash can from the building. No injuries were
reported on the fire grounds and marked under control in about 30 minutes.

WEST EARL TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Thursday February 28th, The Rescue Local was transmitted to the
intersection of Cocalico Creek Road and Oregon Pike for the reported PIC. Units from Company 313 (WEVFC)
and EMS from 210 (RVFC) were advised of multiple calls reporting a PIC w/People trapped and a Second call
reporting no injuries or entrapment. Chief 313-2 arrived on scene reporting a 3 vehicle PIC at the
intersection, Engine 313 controlled hazards as EMS did patient check ups. No patients were transported
from the scene and the incident was cleared in about 25 minutes.

RIVERDALE HEIGHTS, MD -- The Rescue Local was transmitted on BOX 13 to the intersection of Riverdale
Road and 61st Place for the Reported PIC involving an overturned school bus. Units arrived on scene
confirming a PG County School bus overturned with multiple patients. The MCI BOX was transmitted bringing
the EMS Task Force and the PG County MCI Bus. There were about 40 Students involved with the bus driver
ejected and a Priority one patient. All students were checked on the scene, and as many as 40 Patients were
transported with minor neck and back pains to PGGH & Doctors Hospital.

CITY OF YORK, PA -- The BOX was transmitted to the area of 344 Smyser street for the report house on fire
with children trapped. Units from York city arrived with heavy smoke showing on arrival, they started their
primary search and fire attack. Command quickly upgraded the assignment and transmitted the 2nd alarm.
Interior crews were pulled from the dwelling as the fire quickly over took the middle of the row dwelling. The
alarm reached 5 alarms before being brought under control. The fire was started by children playing with
matches, no children were trapped or injured during the incident.
