LEWES, DE -- At 23:47 on 1/4/08 Station 82 lewes, sussex county ems medic 104, and DSP trooper 2 were
alerted for the MVC with entrapment. Command 82 with Asst Chief 82-19 arrived on scene and reported a
single vehicle into a tree with one patient heavily entrapped. Rescue 82 arrived on scene and began to
stabilize the vehicle and make access to the patient. Engine 82-5 arrived behind the Rescue and began
extrication. Crews quickly removed the doors, roof and rolled the dash. The patient was flown via DSP
trooper 2 to Christiana ER.

EAST DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- On January 05th, After clearing the 51 BOX, The Rescue local was
transmitted to the area of Hopkins Mill Road between Dever Road and Buck Road for the reported PIC with
people trapped. While en route, Communications advised units of multiple patients with one vehicle into a
pole with entrapment. Rescue Squad 57 arrived reporting one vehicle into a pole with two patients, one
being trapped. Crews from Rescue Squad 57 & Engine 57-2 started extrication of the one patient while EMS
evaluated and treated them. Crews completed the extrication in under 4 minutes with both patients being
transported by ground to a local trauma center.

One Trapped After Crash, Lancaster County, PA 01.05.2008
TYRONE BOROUGH, PA -- Around January 4th, 2008 about 5:30AM a structure fire was reported, Departments
31 (Tyrone), Station 33 (Hookies), Station 34 (Neptune) were alerted, Upon a response from a chief officer, he
reported heavy fire and requested 2nd alarm. Station 22 (Excelsior Fire company No.1) was alerted for
Rescue/Engine 22-31 to respond to assist. After Rescue/Engine 22-31 went enroute with a full crew of 8, 3302
John Wagner Command of the incident requested Quint 22-51 to the location also. Rescue/Engine crew
provided R.I.T. as well as Quint 22-51 provided defensive operations.

Working House Fire, Blair County, PA 01.04.2008
WASHINGTONVILLE, NY -- At approximately 7:39 AM, January 4th, 2008 the Washingtonville Fire Department
was dispatched out to a reported 2 car motor vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of 3038 State
Route 94 and Tamarak Lane. Washingtonville Car 2 arrived on scene and confirmed entrapment, advising of
a female occupant pinned underneath the dashboard. Washingtonville Rescue 581 arrived on scene and
began to extricate followed close behind by Washingtonville Rescue-Engine 583 which stretched and
charged a handline as well as bringing its portable Hurst generator and combination tool up to the scene.
The 2 crews completed the extrication in short order which included a driver's door pop as well as roof
removal and the patient was handed over to Blooming Grove Paramedics and EMTs in unknown condition for
ground transport. The Chester Fire Department was put on standby in quarters during the incident and its
fire police responded to shut down State Route 94. By 8:45 AM all Washingtonville units were back in
quarters and back in service.

PIC With Extrication, Washingtonville, NY 01.04.2008
CHERRY HILL, NJ -- At 2 p.m a 911 call was received for smoke coming from behind the building located at
486 Evesham Road in Cherry Hill on January 4th, 2008. Minutes late multiple calls were being received by
Camden County Communications of smoke coming from the building and from the building. The full box was
transmitted. Companies arrived and began fire operations with multiple hand lines. At 2:11 the 2nd alarm was
transmitted. 1303 reported a strip store 100x40 with fire and smoke showing from the deli. An urgent request
for the gas company was made as the gas was involved. At the 20 minute mark, Command reported 2 Engines
and Ladders were operating. The truck companies were going to the roof to open up as Engine crews were
stretching lines. The fire was still doubtful at this time. At 2:28 the 3rd Alarm was transmitted. At 2:32 the 30
minute mark Command reported the fire was through the roof and all companies were being pulled out of the
building to set up for exterior attack only. Companies went into operations with 2 master streams. Squirt 1331
went in operation in Division A as Ladder 1324 went into operation from the bucket in Division C. At the 60
minute mark Command reported the fire still doubtful. 2 master streams were still in operation as the D
Division was being opened up checking for extension. A special call for a Sand Truck was made due to icy
conditions from the water from the fire in freezing temperatures. The fire was placed under control at 3:26
hours. No injuries were reported on the fire ground. The Cherry Hill Fire Department and Camden County
Fire Marshals have the fire under investigation.

3 Alarm Building Fire, Camden County, NJ 01.04.2008
MT. HOLLY, NJ -- Firefighters were dispatched to 41 Bispham Street for a reported dwelling fire just after
2100Hrs this evening.  First due Engine Company Engine 5012 reported they had a 3 story twin with fire
showing on the bravo side and heavy smoke throughout.  Next due Company, Squad 2723 assisted first in
crews in attacking the fire.  While crews were working on the interior knocking fire down, Ladder 5025 was
opening up the roof.  Within 20 Mins the fire had spread to the 3rd floor and was beginning to spread to
attached dwelling on the delta side.  Command CP50 requested and evacuation of all firefighters from
interior firefighting to attack the fire from the exterior.  Firefighters were hampered by poor water pressure
in the location of the fire and were forced to lay several large diameter hose lays to attack the fire.  While
operating a firefighter was injured on Ladder 5025 and was transported to Virtua Memorial in unknown
condition.  It was also reported that one to two firefighters had also been transported to local hospitals.  The
fire was placed under control by CP50 at approx 2320Hrs.

LOWER WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, PA -- At approximately 11:30 A.M., Lower Windsor Township fire units were
alerted to 57 New Bridgeville Road for a reported structure fire. Units arrived to find a working fire inside the
rear of the residence. Command 44 then requested the 2nd alarm assigment. Truck 42 (East Prospect)
handled roof operations and Company 41 (Wrightsville) provided manpower for the R.I.T. and a crew for
suppression. The fire was marked under control nearly one hour after dispatch. No injuries were reported.

2 Alarm House Fire, York County, PA 01.06.2008

WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- On January 06th, BOX 54 was transmitted to 721 Beaver Valley Pike for the
reported building on fire. Units from Lampeter 54, Willow Street 512, Lafayette 63 And EMS from 77 were
advised while en route of multiple calls of a motorcycle on fire inside a garage with the fire extending to the
building. Moments later PD arrived on scene reporting to police board of a detached garage well off. With
this info given to fire board, Chief 54 was advised and requested Tanker 59 be added to the assignment.
Chief 54 reported on arrival a one story block garage well off and took the Beaver Valley Pike command.
Engine 54-2 deployed a line on arrival and started making an aggressive attack on the fire, The fire was
knocked down with-in minutes with all hands doing overhaul. The fire was marked under control in about 35
minutes.

Engine Company 54 Deploys A Line, Lancaster County, PA 01.06.2008
CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- On January 5th, 2008, Tactical Box 7712 was dispatched at 4 AM to 634 N. 13th
Street for an apartment fire with people trapped. Battalion 3 arrived and reported a 2 story Apartment
building with heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor. Companies arrived and went in operation with several
hand lines as the Ladder Companies opened up. Primary Searches were negative as E.M.S was treating one
occupant who had jumped from the 2nd floor. The fire was placed under control without any Firefighter
injuries.

People Jumping On Arrival, Philadelphia County, PA 01.05.2008
MT. EPHRAIM, NJ -- On Saturday January 5th 2008, a M.V.A Rescue Assignment was dispatched in front of 209
Black Horse Pike at 4:42 AM on the border of Haddon Heights and Mt. Ephraim. Audubon’s Chief, 102 arrived
and reported a SUV vs. a tractor trailer with 2 people heavily entrapped at 4:43. Three minutes later
Command reported 1 possible DOA and the 2nd entrapped. At the 10 minute mark Command reported Rescue
45 was in operation removing the passenger from the SUV as the Engine Company was in operation
controlling the ruptured fuel tank of the Tractor Trailer. At 04:56 the passenger was extricated from the
vehicle and transported by ALS and BLS to Cooper Trauma Unit in Camden City. The driver of the vehicle was
pronounced on scene. The Engine Company controlled the appox 130 gallons of diesel spill. The Roadway
was shut down for several hours as the Police Fatal Investigation Team performed their investigation. Press
reports indicate the off duty Pennsauken Police Officer, Thomas J. Soto, age 27, driver of the vehicle, was
traveling north on the Black Horse Pike when his vehicle crossed in to on coming traffic and struck the
tractor trailer. Soto was in the Pennsauken Township Police Department since July 2006. The accident is
under investigation at the time of the report.

Off Duty Police Officer Killed In PIC, Camden County, NJ 01.05.2008
COMSTOCK, MI -- Around 0300hrs on 1/8/08 Comstock Twp FD was dispatched by the Kalamazoo County
Sheriffs Dept. (KCSD) for a reported pole barn on fire. Comstock units responding were E923, E911, E912,
C990 and mutual aid from Galesburg Charleston FD which brought L1041 and T1061. E923 arrived first
onscene and reported a working fire. Due to downed power lines next to the building and the fact that roof
had already collapsed, all units went into defensive operations. Chief 990 arrived onscene and took
command. L1041 which is 75’ tele squirt was set up on the south side of the structure and was put into
operation. A 2.5 handline was pulled off E923 and put into service. Once the ladder was spraying water 2 1.75
lines were connected to the 2.5 line for overhaul. Units cleared the scene around 0500hrs. No injuries were
reported and the building was a complete loss.

Building Well Off On Arrival, Kalamazoo County, MI 01.08.2008
EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA -- In the early morning hours of January 09th, LCWC started answering
multiple calls of a working house fire at 3124 Windsor Drive in the 719 BOX Area. With the 1st. Alarm units en
route, Engine 719-1 arrived in the area with heavy smoke and fire showing from a 2 1/2 story woodframe
single family dwelling. Chief 719 arrived taking command and ordering Engine 67-1 to deploy a line to the
basement were the main body of fire was. During suppression operations, Engine 67-1's pipe crew
encountered heavy fire conditions and high heat in the basement of the house. While trying to contain the
fire to the basement, Interior crew members requested the house be vented as they backed out of the
basement due to high heat and the conditions going down fast. Command requested add'l units to the scene
for manpower before he decided to drop the deuce on the BOX. Now with over 19 Companies operating, the
fire was brought under control with hours of overhaul ahead due to a large amount of water and debris in
the basement of the house.

Dropping The Deuce In The Township, Lancaster County, PA 01.09.2008
UPPER LEACOCK TOWNSHIP, PA -- On January 10th around 1625Hrs. the street assignment was transmitted to
60 East Main Street at Dart Container for the fire alarm activation at Building 14. Chief 311 arrived on scene
reporting a working fire in Building 14 and requested the first alarm BOX be transmitted, Command then
reported several large rolls of styro foam on fire inside the building. Command ordered an interior attack on
the fire and requested add'l units to the scene for water supply and manpower. With crews battling with
heavy blinding smoke through out the building and trying to located the fire, 3 hours into the incident the full
2nd alarm was transmitted for manpower. As the 2nd Alarm units were being brought up, command ordered
the roof be opened and interior groups to once again re-group and discuss their tactics on fire suppression.
With the water system starting to be depleted on site, command request the 3rd Alarm be transmitted with
the Water supply task force. Companies on the Water Supply Task Force set up tanker fill sites near the fires
location, crews continued with overhaul and suppression operations for another 2 1/2 hours before being
marked under control by command.

Three Alarm Building At Dart Container, Lancaster County, PA 01.10.2008
CITY OF CAMDEN, NJ -- On January 9th 2008, at 1:15 p.m a  building fire was dispatched in Camden City at 238
Liberty Street. Engine 8, Squad 7, Ladder 1, Ladder 3, Rescue 1 and Battalion 1 were dispatched to the scene.
Battalion 1 arrived and confirmed 1 story warehouse 30x50 with a working fire with visible smoke and fire on
the roof. A additional Engine and the 2nd Chief were dispatched to the location. Engine 8 went in operation
with a 1 ¾” hand line as the Truck Company through Ladders The All Hands was sounded. The fire was
knocked down on the roof with minor extension in the building. The fire was placed under control without
injuries approx 24 minutes later.

Working "ALL HANDS" Warehouse Fire, Camden County, NJ 01.09.2008
CHERRY HILL TOWNSHIP, NJ -- On January 10th 2008, at 2 a.m. a fire was reported in Cherry Hill Township at
1304 Graham Ave. A full box was transmitted. Ladder 1324 arrived and confirmed a 2 story dwelling with
heavy fire showing from the 1st and 2nd floor. Engine 1322 arrived and went in operation with a hand line.
Battalion 1303 reported at the 10 minute mark companies were in operation with a 1 ¾” hand line and a 2 ½”
hand line with the bulk of the fire knocked down. An additional Engine was special called and the Rehab unit.
Battalion 1303 reported the bulk of the fire was exterior with companies checking for extension in the
dwelling. The fire was placed under control without injuries. The fire is under investigation by the Cherry Hill
Fire Department and the Camden County Fire Marshals Office.

Heavy Fire On All Floors On Arrival, Camden County, NJ 01.10.2008
WEST BERLIN, NJ -- On Tuesday January 8th, Task Force 22 was dispatched to the International House of
Pancakes (IHOP) on the two-hundred block of North Route 73 for a structure fire. 22-01 arrived on location
and reported fire showing from the roof of the building. Ladder 22 subsequently arrived on location and
initiated the fire attack They were able to knock the bulk of the fire down within 30 minutes. Numerous other
Fire Companies assisted West Berlin in containing the fire and ultimately saved the majority of the structure.
One Firefighter was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. He was released later that night. An
investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshal’s Office is pending.

I-HOP Is So Hott, Da' Roof Is On Fire! Camden County, NJ 01.08.2008
MANTUA, NJ -- On Friday, January 11, 2008 at 6:10 p.m. Mantua units were dispatched for a M.V.A Rescue
Assignment at 401 Glassboro Woodbury Rd , the Fireside Family Restaurant. Responding units were notified
by Gloucester County Communications that a vehicle struck a building and had the driver still trapped in the
vehicle. Units arrived to find a vehicle half way in a building with the driver out and not injured. Crews put
down oil dry as the gas tank ruptured and was leaking gas. Police stated the driver lost control of the
vehicle, struck a construction sign, a stop sign, and 2 parked cars in the lot before crashing through the
building.  The driver was taken in for questioning. The building inspector was called due to the damage of
the restaurant. The business was closed until further repairs could be made. A civilian inside the restaurant
eating stated she heard a loud crash and never heard any brakes.  She stated the staff hurried everyone
outside of the building due to the gas leak.

One Into A Building, Gloucester County, NJ 11.11.2008
CONESTOGA TOWNSHIP, PA -- On Friday January 11th, BOX 53 was transmitted to 30 Colemanville Road for
the reported house on fire. Chief 53 arrived on scene reporting a 2 1/2 woodframe single family dwelling well
off with a burn victim in the front yard. Engine 53-1 arrived and started an interior attack as EMS worked on
the patient. The fire was marked under control in about 1 hour, two patients were transported to a local
hospital.

Working House Fire, Lancaster County, PA 11.11.2008
CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- On January 12, 2008, in Philadelphia, at 12:30 am Police units were responding
to a Police involved shooting on Clifford Street. While Police unit W18 was responding they were involved in
a M.V.A. The crash occurred in front of 3001 N. Broad Street near Clearfield. Multiple Medic units responded
for a total of 2 injured officers and 4 civilians. The civilian vehicle came to rest against to a McDonalds sign
after colliding with the Police Cruiser near that location.

CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- At 4:30 am on January 12, 2008 Police and Fire units were dispatched to the area
of the 700 block on Cinnaminson Ave for a M.V.A Rescue in Philadelphia. Units arrived on location at 798
Henry Street and reported a 1 vehicle accident with a car into a house. Crews went in operation with the
tools to extricate the trapped driver. The driver was transported to a local hospital. Police stated the vehicle
was stolen.

One Trapped, Philadelphia County, PA 11.12.2008
AKRON BOROUGH, PA -- On January 16th, BOX 12 was transmitted to 100 North 11th Street for the reported
house on fire. Lancaster County Communications advised units of reported smoke through out the house,
Moments after the update Chief 12 arrived reporting smoke through out a 2 1/2 story O/M/D. Engine 12-1
arrived with it's crew deploying an 1 3/4 250' crosslay into the first floor of the house. The chauffeur secured
his own water supply as interior crews reported a wood stove on fire with no extension into the house. As
the crew from Engine 12-1 cleared the stove of all burning material and started to vent, Engine 15-1 arrived
and assisted with PPV. The fire was marked under control in under 40 minutes with no injuries reported.

Quick Work Prevents Extension, Lancaster County, PA 01.16.2008
HELLAM TOWNSHIP, PA -- Just before 22:00 hours, The Rescue Company along with Engine 21 and Lancaster
Engine 81 were dispatched to the area of Cool Creek Road and Mt. Pisgah in Hellam Township for a crash
with entrapment. Rescue 2 went enroute with five in one minute, Captain 41 in the seat. Rescue 2 arrived on
the scene to find a single vehicle accident with one patient trapped on the driver side.  Crews stabilized
vehicle, and started patient care/extrication.  LC Engine 81 pulled a line for safety.  The extrication was
complete in 9 minutes.  While on the scene, Rescue 1's crew responded to a RIT call assisting East Prospect
with a crew of 8.

One Trapped After Crash, York County, PA 01.16.2008
GENESEO, NY -- On Saturday afternoon, January 19, Geneseo Fire and EMS were dispatched to a structure
fire at 16 Center Street in the village of Geneseo. Fire Chief Frank Manzo arrived on location and reported
heavy fire conditions on the "B" side attic area of the large two and a half-story home. Chief Manzo further
requested an additional engine company from York, the F.A.S.T. team from Livonia, as well as the mobile air
cascade unit from Mt. Morris to the scene. Lakeville, Hemlock and Richmond fire departments were placed
on stand-by. The cause of the fire was under investigation by the Livingston County Office of Emergency
Management. The Geneseo Police also responded to the scene.
