LAUREL SPRINGS, NJ -- Station 60 (Laurel Springs), Station 64-1( Stratford ), Squirt 63-1(Lindenwold) were
dispatched to 111 Madison Ave in Laurel Springs for a dwelling fire at 11:15 on March 2, 2007. Command
arrived and reported a 2 ½ single family dwelling with heavy fire from the D side.  Engine 6023 arrived and
went in service with a 1.75” handline. Command struck the 2nd alarm shortly after arrival bringing in Quint
29-1(Magnolia), Rescue 8-2 (Chews Landing), 61-1(Clementon), Rescue 6-5(Somerdale), and 63-1
(Lindenwold), Camden Communications Field Com 2, and Rehab 13-8 from Cherry Hill. Crews battled heavy
fire conditions in the C – D divisions with extension to the 2nd floor and attic area.  Searches were
performed with negative results.  At the 10 minute mark Command reported the fire to still be doubtful with
3 handlines in operation.  Ladder companies were sent to the roof for ventilation as walls were opened up
to hit the extending fire in the walls. The fire was placed under control without any firefighter injuries.
Neighbors stated the occupants moved into the dwelling less then a year ago and were not home at the
time. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals Office.

WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 512 was transmitted to the 2500 Block of Shiprock Road for the
reported vehicle in the water with one still inside. Crews from companies 512 & 54 arrived with one patient
still in a vehicle in about 2 1/2 feet of water. Crews assisted the patient from the vehicle and went ready
shorty afterwards.

One Rescued From Car In Water, Lancaster County, PA 03.02.2007
TEMPLE HILLS, MD -- BOX 29 was transmitted to the area of Interstate 95 @ Route 5 for the reported PIC
involving two tractor trailers and muiltiple vehicles. Units arrived with one 18 wheeler up on the jersey
barrer and 3 other Vehicles involved. Command requested the Hazmat assignment for a fuel leak from the
tractor trailers saddle tanks.

Crash Leads To Haz-Mat BOX, Prince George's County, MD 03.02.2007
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA -- Around 1639Hrs., Rescue Company 40 (Boothwyn)along with Medic 100C(Crozer)
were dispatched to I-95 South just before Chichester Ave for an accident with entrapment reported serious.
Rescue Company 40 made the response and arrived to find carnage all over the highway. Chief
40(Montello) assumed the Interstate Command and split up crews to check on all the injured subjects.
There were several patients that were ejected along the highway that had serious injuries. The Crews from
40 assisted the Ambulance and Medics with patient care and packaging. Several Additional BlS and ALS
were called to the scene to assist. Crews operated on the scene for about 40 minutes. Units on location:
Rescue Company 40, Medics 100, 100C, 100-7 & 68-7(Marcus Hook Trainer F.D).

CHERRY HILL, NJ -- At approx 0610Hrs., Firefighters from the CHFD’s Ladder 13-24, Engine 13-22, Engine 13-
52, Station 13-7, Battalion 1303 and CHFD EMS were dispatched to 1906 W. Route 70 at the Chili’s Restaurant
and Bar on the morning of March 4th 2007 for a reported building fire.  Ladder Co. 13-24 arrived with
medium smoke showing from Side Alpha.  Upon positioning the apparatus company officer reported they
now had visible fire showing on the interior of the building and to have Engine 13-22 lay in to the fire and
go into operation with an 1 ¾ handline.  Battalion 1303 arrived and requested the All Hands struck which
brought Squrt 13-31, Ladder 13-44, Additional EMS unit and Rehab 13-8 to the scene as additional apparatus
and RIT.  Command reported that all personnel were being evacuated from the building due to HVAC units
collapsing into the interior of the structure along with roof collapse.  Companies began to secure additional
water supplies for the Ladder Companies and for portable monitors.  Crews were hampered due to extreme
wind conditions that partially led to the fire spread on the interior of the building.  Command 1300
requested 2nd Alarm to be struck which brought Engine 11-31, Burlington Co.  Engine 22-12, Squad 13, and
Ladder 14-1.  Command requested Squad 13 to lay out from the fire to a hydrant opposite of the building on
Route 70.  At the height of the fire there was approx 2 Ladder Companies in operation, 1 Squrt, 3 Portable
Monitors and Several Handlines in the attempt to extinguish the fire.  Companies made an attempt to stop
the fire spread to a neighboring business the Porterhouse Steak Restaurant.  But with the wind and
explosions within the interior of the building, the fire spread to the remainder of the building.  Command
requested 2 additional Engine Companies into staging, which brought Burlington Co. Engine 10-13 and
Engine 14-12.  As of 1010 Hrs Command reported he still had Multiple Master streams in operation with
pockets of heavy fire in the Delta side of the building.  At 1015 Hrs Command 1300 placed the fire under
control.  The fire is under investigation by the Cherry Hill FM’s Office and also to be reported there were no
civilian or firefighter injuries as of the time of this article.

Chili's Keeps Things Hot, Hot, Hot!, Camden County, NJ 03.04.2007
SOUTHAMPTON, NJ -- The structure box was dispatched to the area of Washington St. and S Pemberton Rd
just after 09:00.  Chief 1710 (S. Pratt) signed enroute and was advised of a passerby reporting heavy dark
smoke from the roof of an unoccupied structure.  Chief 1710 arrived to find a single story wood frame with
heavy smoke from the basement.  RE1712 (D’Amico) arrived and stretched the 150’ bumper line to the
basement via a door on Div C.  Tender 1716 (B. Pratt) arrived and picked up 12’s water supply.  The IC
placed all companies in service adding RE1911 and RIT251 to the assignment.  RE1911 arrived as the
Rescue Engine and was assigned to Div 1 to vent, enter and search.  T1314 arrived and stretched a 2nd 1
¾” line to Div C.  E1713 and E1722 arrived and were assigned to the roof division.  The fire was placed
under control within 15 minutes and is still under investigation.

Working Basement Fire, Burlington County, NJ 03.03.2007
PENNSAUKEN, NJ -- Units were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at 8737 Stocken Ave on March 4,
2007.  Command arrived and reported a 1.5 story with smoke showing from the eaves striking the all hands
box. Crews arrived and went in operation with a 1.75" handline as the Ladder Comany went to the roof.  ALS
and BLS were added for an unknown status of the occupants inside.  Companies performed searches with
negative results.  Additional BLS was called to the scene for a firefighter with an ankle injury sustained
during operations. The injured firefighter was transported to Cooper Hospital.  All occupants were later
accounted for. At the 20 minute mark, Command reported 3 1.75" handlines in operation.  The bulk of the
fire was knocked down at the 30 minute mark.  The Camden County Fire Marshals are investigating the
cause of the fire at this time.

Working House Fire With Firefighter Injured, Camden County, NJ 03.04.2007
DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 58 was transmitted to 1140 Holtwood Road for the reported building on fire.
Chief 513 in area driving home was the first officer on the scene reporting a working greenhouse. Engine
58-1 arrived and deployed a 1.75" water line as the crew from Engine 57-4 backed them up. The fire was
knocked down and the BOX was placed in service in about 40 minutes.

Greenhouse Glows Red, Lancaster County, PA 03.04.2007
CITY OF BINGHAMTON, NY -- On Saturday, March 3, shortly after 9:00 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at
23 Henry Street. The fire was reported after a resident on the forth-floor of the five-story student apartment
building awoke to find his curtains on fire. All of the building's occupants, as well as patrons of a restaurant
on the ground floor, were safely evacuated. Firefighters staffing a tower ladder, two quints, two engines
and a rescue were able to bring the fire quickly under control. Fire officials stated the fire was caused by a
space heater. No injuries were reported.

Working Apartment Fire, Broome County, NY 03.03.2007
HAMBURG BOROUGH, PA -- Just shortly before 1900 hrs the special alarm was struck for Montgomery
County's AIR 69 ( Pottstown ) and Casscade 68 ( Sassmansville ) to respond to the Boro of Hamburg in Berks
County for a 5 alarm fire.  With a 40 mile drive ahead of them and extented ETA  Air 69 and Casscade 68
arrived on location only to be staged and kept in available. As for the fire itself was reported to have
broken out at 1530 hours in a furniture store spread to 2 others businesses and 8 apartments. With high
winds and frigid temps hampering firefighters from controling the fire a watermain break was thrown into
the loop of things. Command then ordered for tankers into the scene. On scene about a Hundred plus
firefighters from Berks, Lehigh, Schukylkill, and Montgomery Counties remained on location throughout the
evening and were slowly released through out the evening. However crews will still be on scene through
the cold and windy night and day tomorrow.

Pottstown's AIR 69 Travels 40 Miles For 5 Alarm Fire, Berks County, PA 03.05.2007
CITY OF PHILADELPHIA,PA -- A box was dispatched in Philadelphia for a dwelling at 5324 Kershaw Street on
March 6, 2007 at 8:45. Battalion 11 arrived and reported a 2 story middle of the row, with heavy smoke
showing.  Command reported he would be putting 2 and 2 to work. The All Hands box was struck as a
firefighters were reported down inside the dwelling.  The RIT team was placed in service. Command
reported heavy fire in the basement and rear of the dwelling extending.  2 Medic Units and an additional
RIT  were dispatched as well. Minutes later the RIT team retrieved the 2 injured firefighters and both were
transported to HUP Trauma. 2 additional Engine Companies were assigned to the box as crews placed 5
1.75” handlines in operation.  Command reported the fire had extended to both exposures.
Both Firefighters were from Engine Company 16 and were transported to the Trauma Unit after a report of a
flashover occuring.  Both injuries were reported to be a Class 2 trauma. The fire was placed under control
around the 40 minute mark.

Flashover Injures Two Brothers, Philadelphia County, PA 03.06.2007
ETNA BOROUGH, PA -- Around 9:45am on March 6th, 2007, Firefighters were dispatched to the Duquesne
Electric Company located at 475 Butler Street in Etna Borough for a commercial structure fire. Etna police
arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke showing from a large warehouse style commercial structure.
Workers reported to police that some type of furnace was on fire inside the structure. Etna rescue arrived
on scene and took a hydrant in front of the structure as Etna fire chief arrived on scene, assumed command
and requested a second alarm. Interior crews quickly contained the fire but a large amount of smoke
remained inside the structure. Crews spent over an hour to evacuate the smoke and crews returned into
service without further incident.

2 Alarm Warehouse Fire, Allegheny County, PA 03.06.2007
COAL TOWNSHIP, PA -- On March 4th, 2007 the Coal Township Fire Department and Ambulance were
dispatched to 26 Eagle Avenue for a working house fire. A fire chief arrived on scene in minutes and found
flames shooting from the front of the home. The fire continued to spread quickly and moved through out
the house’s roof. Shamokin Tower-ladder 34, Engine 41 and Rescue 62 were then dispatched to the scene
to assist with the working fire. Engine 111 was the first engine on scene and staged in front of the
residence. The engine crew stretched a 1 ¾ hose line to Side A and attacked the fire. Engine 141
established a water supply from a hydrant. Engine 41 staged in front of Engine 111 in front of the home. The
other engine crews backed up the attack crew and entered the fire building. The other responding engines
laid supply line and established a water supply from hydrants blocks away. Tower Ladder 34 staged on the
side street and sent its ladders to the rear roof to do truck work. The remaining Coal Township and
Shamokin Engine Companies responded on the second and third alarms and then went to work. Coal
Township Rescue 193 responded to the scene and provided assistance in fighting the fire. Shamokin
Rescue 62 had its crew provided RIT Team operations and then replaced by the Kulpmont Engine 221. The
fire continued to spread through out the row homes on the block. A fourth alarm was sounded and
additional units were placed on standby in the local area. An evacuation order was given over the radio to
all attack crews. The order leads to all interior crews being removed from the residences. Master stream
hose lines were set up outside the homes and the attack was defensive. The smoke condition spread
through out the homes and the crews searched for extensions. The crews had the fire under control in a
few hours and all hot spots were out with no rekindles. The fire chief believes the fire started in the home
at 26 Eagle Avenue and spread through out the block. The fire chief reported that there was no major
injuries to fire fighters and the homes received major damage. A Mayday call was sounded in the beginning
of the fire but was found to be a false report.

4 Alarm Row Home, Northumberland County, PA 03.04.2007
VANDERGRIFT, PA -- On March 3rd, 2007 around 08:30 Vandergrift #2 VFD (Station 50), Vandergrift #1 Fire-
Rescue (Station 51), and Hyde Park/West Leechburg VFD (Station 53) for the RIT along with EMS was
dispatched to 506 Lowell Street for a house fire. Assistant 50-1 arrived on scene with a working fire. Snorkel
50 arrived and started to attack the fire, while Engine 51 was ordered to lay a line from the ambulance
station to the “C” side of structure. While the attack was in progress, the hydrant that Snorkel 50 took was
dead. Chief 50 while enroute had Engine 49 (Oklahoma VFD) dispatched, and then command then ordered
the full 2nd alarm to be dispatched, bringing Station 101 (Markle VFD), and Station 169 (Apollo #2) from
Armstrong County to the scene. Ladder 51 was ordered to start ventilation on arrival, and the crew from
Engine 51 started to attack the fire in the basement division. Crews started to get a knockdown on the fire
on “division 2” when they encountered extreme heat conditions, and a loss of water. At that time everyone
was ordered out of the structure and defensive operations was started. Due to the loss of water, Tankers
from Station 99 (Allegheny Twp. VFD), Station 102 (Washington Twp VFD), and Tankers from Station 200
(Parks Twp. VFD), Station 100 (Gilpin Twp. VFD), Station 140 (Kiski Twp. VFD) from Armstrong County
dispatched, and tanker shuttle operations began as well. Station 69 (Lower Burrell #3 VFD) was also
dispatched for an additional RIT team. The fire was extinguished in about 2 1/2 hours, and then extensive
overhaul began of the structure.

Working House Fire, Westmoreland County, PA 03.03.2007
CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- At 13:45 hours, Box 855 was transmitted in the City of Philadelphia for a
dwelling fire at 728 S. 19th Street on March 8, 2007. Crews arrived to find heavy fire conditions from a 3
story middle of the row dwelling.  Companies stretched line and went to work. Command struck the all
hands with several special calls. Approx 30 minutes into the job the 2nd alarm was transmitted as fire
conditions worsened as fire had extended into both exposures.  Crews reported the fire possibly flashed
over in the original fire building as crews faces heavy fire conditions on all three floors.  The RIT team was
activated as several firefighters were reported down. The 3rd alarm was transmitted around the 1 hour
mark bringing in additional crews.  Additional Medic Units were dispatched to the scene for several
firefighters with smoke inhalation and one with burns. One firefighter was transported to Jefferson Hospital
for smoke inhalation. The other was transported to HUP Trauma for smoke inhalation and burns.  Both
firefighters are listed in stable condition.  The bulk of the fire was knocked down at 14:49 hours and placed
under control at 15:23. Command reported one victim, DOA located on the first floor of the original fire
building. Neighbors described the dwelling as a frequent drug house.

Fatal 3 Alarm House Fire w/FF Injuries, Philadelphia County, PA 03.08.2007
SWEDESBORO,NJ -- Units were dispatched for a dwelling fire at 1325 Kings Highway on March 6, 2007 at
1030pm. Command, 2500, arrived and reported a 4 story multi family dwelling with heavy smoke showing.  
The 2nd alarm was sounded on arrival. Crews went in operation with handlines on the first floor to find
heavy fire conditions.  The fire had extended on each floor forcing crews out of the dwelling and to go in
defensive operations.  The evacuation tones were sounded and all firefighters were accounted for outside
the dwelling. Master streams were set up and placed in operation on each side of the dwelling as fire was
showing through the roof.  At midnight command reported multiple master streams in operations with fire
conditions still present. Crews remained on location through the night still in operation with master
streams.  At 2 am Command reported the municipality water system to be drained dry and crews were
looking for sources to start drafting.  Crews established a water supply at a local lake with tankers in
operation as well. The fire has been ruled as accidental. Over 100 firefighters from 20 companies worked to
bring the blaze under control.

2 Alarm Fire Drains Municipalities Water Source, Gloucester County, NJ 03.06.2007
CAMDEN CITY, NJ -- At 2300Hrs. on March 8, 2007, Squad 7 and Ladder 3 were dispatched for a reported
vehicle fire at Empire and Park. While en route Camden County Communications advised units it was going
to be an overturned vehicle and not a vehicle fire. Ladder 3 was recalled and Rescue 1 and Battalion 1
were dispatched.  Squad 7 arrived and confirmed an overturned vehicle with occupants still inside. ALS and
BLS arrived and confirmed both occupants to be DOA.  One occupant was hanging half way out the
passenger side window, with the other beneath them. Camden City Police notified their Traffic Unit to
perform the fatal investigation. No other vehicle were reportly involved.

NORTH COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, PA -- Just minutes after 1200 hours Montgomery E58-1 (Sanatoga) was
dispatched as the (RIT) team to assist Chester 64(Norco) on the working fire dispatch. Chester county units
were first dispatched to a the fire with report of house on fire being evacuated. Upon arrival of PD, the
officer found smoke from the second floor windows. Quickly after that the officer then reported fire from
the second floor and multiple explosion. All units were quickly advised of multiple rounds of ammunition
going off. The fire was extinquished and under control in about 45 mins. With heavy fire damage throughout
the second floor crews remained on location for salvage and overhaul. Units on assisting on scene were.
Chester 64, 62, 61 Montco 58, 57 and 329 Ambulance.

Ammunition Goes Off At Working House Fire, Chester County PA 03.09.2007
CHESTER CITY, PA -- The BOX was transmitted to 2701 Maddison Street for the reported apartment on fire.
Tower 82(J. Albany) arrived first and found heavy fire showing from a ground floor apartment. Engine
821(Capt. Barbato) dropped the 5 and went inservice with a handlines while the tower was sent in for the
primary. Chester 11 (B/C Powers) Hit the 2nd alarm right away brining the Chester callbacks and Air 52 RIT45
and Ladder and engine 65. Crews from 65 and 52 did primarys and opened up. Crews were inservice for just
under 3 hours.

2 Alarm Apartment Fire, Delaware County, PA 03.09.2007
CITY OF CAMDEN, NJ -- On March 10th, 2007, Engine 6, Engine 1, Ladder 1, Ladder 3, Rescue 1 and Battalion
2 were dispatched to 5th and York for a reported dwelling fire at 8 pm. White enroute County Radio advised
Battalion 2 they received 4 calls for a house of fire.  Engine 11 was added to the box. Engine 6  arrived and
reported smoke showing.  Battalion 2 arrived and reported at 915 N. 5th street they had medium smoke
showing from a 2 story middle of the row. Several minutes later, Battalion 2 reported Engine 6 had heavy
fire on the 2nd floor with fire in the cockloft.  The all hands was struck.  Battalion 1 was added to the box.
Engine 1 secured a water supply as Ladder 1 went to the roof.  Rescue 1 performed searches with negative
results.  At the 10 minute mark Battalion 2 reported crews still had fire conditions on the 2nd floor and in
the cockloft. Squad 7 and Ladder 2 were added to the box as a special call. Crews knocked down the blaze
in the original fire building and opened up the exposures which both had smoke conditions in them. 15
Minutes into the job Battalion 2 reported the bulk of the fire knocked down and 10 minutes later placed it
under control. No firefighter injuries were reported on the fire ground.  Camden City Fire Marshals are
investigating the cause of the blaze.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA -- Around 0130Hrs. on the morning of saturday the 10th Company 41(Newtown
Square) was dispatched to 411 Dogwood Lane for a building fire. Within mintues PD arrived to a fully
involved fire with a victim in the front lawn. 41-9 then arrived and gave an updated report of a working fire
with heavy fire showing in the rear with a victim in cardiac arrest on the front lawn. At that time he asked
fireboard to redispatch for the working fire and full company 53(Broomall) and 23(Media) for the R.I.T. Team.
Companies attempted a interior attack for the first hour of the fire then command pulled crews out for
exterior attack.Crews went ready around 0600Hrs.
