VOORHEES, NJ -- At 1128 hours, BLS 668 and ALS 41 were dispatched to Whitehorse Rd. & Echelon Rd. for a
reported MVA. Upon arrival BLS 6687 was confronted with a three car MVA with one person pinned. BLS
6687 then requested the Rescue box be filled for a door pop. SouthStar was placed on standby at their pad
at Virtua Voorhees to fly a patient with possible life threatening injuries. 66202 (Lauletta) arrived on location
confirming a three car MVA with one person pinned. Squad 662 arrived stabilized the vehicle and prepared
to go into operation with the Hurst tools. Rescue 663 was ordered to position themselves to go into
operation with their winch, to remove an SUV that was prohibiting crews from accessing the confined
patient. The crew from Rescue 663 removed the SUV utilizing their winch, and the crew from Squad 662
went into operation removing the passenger door for better access for BLS and ALS. After a better
assessment of the patient, BLS and ALS transported the patient to SouthStar waiting at their pad at Virtua
Voorhees. The patient was flown to Cooper Trauma for evaluation. The driver of the SUV was transported to
a local hospital via STAT Medical Transportation with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup
refused medical attention. Crews from Squad 662 and Rescue 663 then secured the power to the vehicles,

FERRY PASS, FL -- At 0500Hrs. the BOX was transmitted for Station 7, Engine 6, 3 & 2 for a possible structure
fire @ 6501 Westview Drive. 701 arrived O/S reporting heavy fire and smoke visable from Ely Rd and
Johnson Ave and requested Santa Rosa Engine 21 respond. 701 then gave an update of a single story brick
structure well off and requested an add'l Engine. Engine 712 Laid out and pulled a 1.75" line to the garage, a
quick stop was made by the crews of station 7, Engine 319 and Station 6. Salvage and overhaul started after
all the fire was knocked down from the exterior. All units went ready around 0700Hrs.

CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The BOX was transmitted to Joyce Avenue for the reported house on fire.
Battalion 10 arrived and reported a 2 story middle of the row, 15x35 with fire showing and reported he
would be using all hands. Rescue 1 and Ladder 15 as the RIT team were added to the box. Around the 15
minute mark, Battalion 10 reported the bulk of the fire knocked down and placed the fire under control.
Primary and secondary searches were negative. No firefighter injuries were reported on the fire ground.

CAMDEN CITY , NJ -- At 5 A.M. on March 14, 2007 a box was transmitted in the City of Camden for a dwelling
fire at 5th and Chambers. Responding on the box was Engine 1, Engine 6, Ladder 2, Ladder 1, Rescue 1 and
Battalion 1. County Radio advised units they received a call reporting smoke and flames from a dwelling.
Rescue 1 arrived and reported a dwelling heavily involved. Battalion 1 arrived and reported at 401
Chambers Street , a 3 story, ordinary, dilapidated burned out vacant, with heavy fire showing from the rear.
The all hands was struck adding Engine 8 and Battalion 2 to the box. Engine 6 went in operation with a 1.75”
hand line followed by a back up line. A water supply was established as Rescue 1 performed searches. At
the 20 minute mark Battalion 1 reported all visible fire had been knocked down and placed the fire under

EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 48 was transmitted to 35 South Willowdale Drive at the Rockvale Square Outlet for the reported building fire. On arrival there was fire visible from the front roof area. Command ordered Ladder 63 to open up the roof area as crews got suppression efforts underway. As crews worked the fire spread rapidly through-out the entire roof line of the store front. Command ordered all hands working to evacuate the building and go heavy duty. Ladder 63 went into Ladder Pipe operations as multiple heavy lines went into service. Ladder 24, 42 & Tower 512 continued to open up the roof as crews on the ground keep knocking down the ever growning fire. ETNA BOROUGH, PA -- Shortly after 2am on Sunday, March 18th, Allegheny County 911 dispatched a first
alarm assignment for the 300 block of Butler Street in Etna Borough for a reported possible structure fire
located in the rear of Amato’s Pizza. Etna fire chief arrived on scene moments later and notified county
dispatch that the fire was located in a 3 story apartment building with heavy fire in the rear of the structure,
he also reported multiple power lines down in the rear and immediately requested a second alarm be
dispatched. Several exposures also became involved as firefighters worked feverishly to contain the
flames that quickly became a 4 alarm fire. Firefighters from Etna, Cherry City, Undercliff, Sharpsburg,
Aspinwall, Millvale, Sharps Hill, Shaler Villa, Bauerstown, Mt.Troy, Elfinwild and Berkeley Hills responded to
the fire. Several people in several apartments were displaced due to the intense flames. Several
businesses located on the first floors of the buildings involved were also damaged. There is no word on
what caused this massive fire and the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s office along with Etna police are still

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA -- At 09:46hrs, Rescue 73, Medic 23 and Amb. 23 were dispatched to N. Providence
Rd. and Woodcliffe Rd. for an MVA with entrapment. Chief 739 (Brown) arrived to reported a two vehicle
accident with one trapped. Seems a passenger car was broad-sided on the drivers side by a full size pickup
truck. Medic 23 and 23-7 began patient care. Rescue 73 arrived and initiated hazard control, stabilization
and went to work under the direction of Acting Rescue Officer R. Hespenheide. On the drivers side the
Rescue crew removed the driver's door, A/B post and rear door. EMS requested additional clearance so the
roof was removed. Engine 73 arrived and put a third Hurst Tool in service. Utility 73 provided additional

CAMDEN CITY, NJ -- The BOX was dispatched in the City for a dwelling fire at 1544 Wildwood Ave on March
19, 2007 at 0245 pm. Squad 7, Engine 9, Ladder 3, Ladder 2, Rescue 1 and Battalion 2 responded on the box.
County Radio advised units they received a call for a rubbish fire on the front porch. Minutes later County
Radio advised the responding units they were receiving multiple calls. Engine 8 was added to the box.
Engine 9 arrived and reported heavy fire conditions showing. Battalion 2 arrived and reported a 2 story
with heavy fire 1st and 2nd floors with extension to the exposure. The 2nd alarm was transmitted. Engine 1,
Engine 6, Ladder 161 ( Collingswood ), Battalion 1 and Car 3 were added to the box. Engine 9 went in
service with a 2 ½” handline to knock the heavy fire conditions down on the front porch. Ladder 3 set
ground ladders in place and went in operation with ventilation. Squad 7 secured a water supply and
followed in with a back up line. Rescue 1 arrived and performed searches with negative results. Both City
Ladders were placed in operation opening up. The fire was knocked down quickly and crews opened up to

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP. NJ -- At 2323 hours on March 19, 2007, a Waterford Township Police Officer called
in a building fire next to the car wash located at 423 White Horse Pike. The full alarm box was transmitted
minutes later. County Radio advised units PD had heavy fire showing with a tanker located a couple feet
from the rear of the building. Waterford Command arrived and reported a 1 ½ story, 40x50 wood frame
building, with heavy smoke and fire showing. The all hands was sounded on arrival. At the 10 minute mark,
Command reported they had two 2” handlines in operation as the fire remained doubtful. At the 20 minute
mark the bulk of the fire was knocked down with two 2” handlines in operations as well as a 1.75” handline.
Command reported crews to be making good progress at that time. The tanker in the rear of the property
was reported to be empty at the time of the fire. The building had been vacant for some time. Police called
for the crime lab to assist in investigation of the fire. The fire was placed under control at 0012 hours. No
firefighter injuries were reported on the fire ground. The Camden County Fire Marshals are investigating

Buck Road for the reported Crash with serious injuries. LCWC gave incoming units the update of one
patient unconscious and involving a Tractor Trailer. Command requested an add'l medic unit when he

received a call from the residents reporting flames from the basement. Engine 1 arrived and reported
smoke showing. Battalion 1 arrived and reported a 2 story, ordinary, with smoke showing striking the all
hands. Battalion 2 and Engine 8 were added to the box. Engine 1 went in operation with a 1.75” hand line to
find fire conditions in the basement. A 2nd 1.75” handline was also placed in operation. Ladder 1 through
ground ladders as Rescue 1 performed searches. One resident was transported to a local hospital.
Conditions on injury were unknown. The fire was brought under control 22 minutes from dispatch. No

north of East Waterford -The Love Farm. 1st alarm & 2nd alarm Tankers were initially called, which consisted
of JC Engines 72, 52, 12-1, JC Tankers 73, 53, 13, PC 3 JC Truck 27, EMS 22. Chief 71 arrived with fully
involved barn, requesting 2nd alarm Engines, which added JC Engines 22, 32-2. Third alarm (plus special
calls) were added soon after, which added JC Engine 12-2, FC 12-1, FC 12-2, JC Tanker 63-1, 63-2, FC 12, PC
1, HC 14. MC Truck 11-1, JC Traffic 38, JC Utility/Air 48, JC Rehab 208. Last units cleared at 0210, some to be

FORT WASHINGTON, MD -- Around 2340Hrs. While en route to a Rescue Local with one trapped, Rescue
Squad 47 was involved in a PIC and rolled over. First reports from the scene reported 4 firefighters were
seriously injured, of which 2 FF's had to be freed from the Rescue Squad. All four firefighters were
transported / flown from the scene as priority one patients. UPDATE: All 4 firefighters are reportedly doing

HOMESTEAD BOROUGH, PA -- On March 22nd, at 12:54am, Homestead firefighters along with the 1st alarm
structure fire assignment were dispatched to the 100 block of West 10th Street in for a reported residential
structure fire. Minutes later, Homestead fire chief arrived on scene and reported a working fire inside a
structure with multiple exposure problems. Firefighters arrived to find a 3 story brick single family dwelling
with heavy fire throughout the structure. Large diameter lines were set up to protect the exposures and an
aggressive attack was performed from both the front and rear of the structure. The fire quickly spread to
one other structure, but firefighters made good progress knocking the fire down in the exposure. Crews
reported the 2nd floor in the original fire building was gone and all crews were pulled out and a defense
attack was put into effect, while crews continued to work in the exposure building. A 2nd home was also
damaged due to the fire. A total of 3 alarms ended up responding before the fire was brought under
control. One woman, the homeowner, was arrested and charged with arson, causing or risking a
catastrophe, criminal mischief and four counts of reckless endangerment. Homestead police and the
Allegheny County fire marshal's office are still investigating. No one was injured, however 12 people are

3 Alarm Arson Fire Damages Two Homes, Allegheny County, PA 03.22.2007

HADDONFIELD, NJ -- On March 21, 2007 at 00:15 hours, a vehicle driving down Kings Highway noticed smoke
coming from the eves at the Mini Mall. The driver went directly to Haddonfield’s Firehouse, located just
around the corner, and reported the fire. Taskforce 14 was dispatched to the Mini Mall for a building fire.
Chief Riggs arrived and reported a 2 story masonry building with heavy smoke showing. Chief Riggs
requested the all hands box transmitted adding an additional Engine, Ladder ,Rescue, Cascade and ISAT
(Camden County Chiefs). Engine 1411(Haddonfield) secured a water supply and layed in. Cherry Hill ’s
Ladder arrived and assisted with Haddonfield firefighters in locating the fire. Crews worked to located the
fire in the cockloft of the structure. An area approx. 3x3 was burning in the cockloft. Crews used handlines
to extinguish the blaze. No firefighter injures were reported and no one was inside the structure at the
time of the fire. The Camden County Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze. Units from
Haddonfield, Westmont, Cherry Hill, Audubon, Barrington , and the Camden County Fire Police assisted in

CAERNARVON TOWNSHIP, PA -- At 12:54 AM, Ladder 69 was requested to assist the Churchtown Fire
Company (34) with a garage fire at Hammertown Road and Turkey Hill Road, Caernarvon Township,
Lancaster County. The Ladder Truck made the response with a crew of 5 volunteers, and was advised that
there was a working fire. The crew from 34 made a good knockdown of the fire, using compressed air foam
(CAFS) from Tanker 34. Engine 34-1 dropped the five inch at the end of the driveway, and laid a 400' supply
line. The TVFD volunteers assisted with overhaul. Crews from the Goodville Fire Company also assisted
with overhaul and established a water supply with their 6,000 Gallon Tanker. Rescue Squad 36 filled air

CITY OF CHICAGO, IL -- One firefighter was killed and three others suffered serious injuries this morning
when Truck 51 was responding to a call. The apparatus was struck by a driver-only school bus, and the rig
rolled over. Another FF remains critical and the other 2 are stable. Killed was Chicago Fire Department 20
year veteran, 44-year-old FF William Grant. Witnesses claim the apparatus was westbound on 59th Street
with its lights and sirens on and the school bus traveling south on Wells didn't stop in time...the apparatus
driver swerved to try to avoid the bus, but the rig was struck in the rear right corner and rolled.

TEMPLE HILLS, MD -- BOX 29-17 was transmitted to 4400 Branch Avenue at Ourisman Chevy Dealership for
the reported building on fire. Moments later Car 16-20 give the first report of a working building fire at
Ourisman's in the parts department building. Command reported heavy fire in the building as crews were
getting ready to make an attack. Command transmitted the 2nd Alarm and had all units go heavy duty from
the exterior. Several heavy water lines and Ladder pipes were in service to knock down the bulk of the fire.

Vehicle and a shed on fire. D/C 513 arrived shortly after the add'l from communications was received and
reported a Shed & Vehicle well off with exposure problems to the house near by. Engine 513-1 arrived and
deployed a 1.75" water line and made the knock on the fire and stopped the fire from spreading to the

DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 513 was transmitted to 1519 Slate Hill Road for the reported barn on fire.
Chief 513 arrived on scene with nothing showing from the exterior of the barn. Upon investigating chief 513
reported fire in the attic area of a milking parlor of the milk house. Crews from 513 opened up the exterior
siding of the barn and knocked down the fire. Command held units from 513 on the BOX and relocated
