BERWYN HEIGHTS, MD -- BOX 14-09 was transmitted to 9150 Edmonston Road for the reported apartment
building on fire. Units from 14 arrived shortly after dispatch to report a 3 story Garden style apartment
building with nothing evident from the exterior. Rescue Squad 14 then reported a smoke condition in
Apartment #202 and from the 3rd Division from the exterior. Ladder 14 later reported fire in the walls and
extending through and up the pipe chase as crews opened up the walls and roof. Upon entering the
cockloft area the crew of Ladder 9 reported heavy fire and the Fire Task Force was transmitted. Shortly
after the units on the Task Force were started the 2nd alarm was transmitted as they had heavy fire
conditions and fire showing from the roof. Crews operating started reporting to command that they had
extenston to an exposure building and command transmitted the 3rd Alarm as crews took control of the
bulk of the fire. Crews from Ladder 14 and 9 made multiple cuts and trenched the roof to gain control and
stop the fire from spreading even more. Command released all 3rd Alarm units around 0120Hrs. and marked

BERWYN HEIGHTS, MD -- BOX 14-09 was transmitted to 9118 Edmonston Court for the reported apartment
building on fire. Units from company 14 arrived with a working electrical fire in the basement. The fire once
again ran up the pipe chase into the cockloft area. The 2nd Alarm was transmitted as Ladder 9 and 14
opened up the roof and held the fire till it was knocked. Power has been cut to 31 Buildings and 372 units
were displaced until work can be done on the electrical systems.

PEQUEA TOWNSHIP, PA -- BOX 511 was transmitted to 777 Millwood Road for the reported house on fire.
Chief 512 arrived on scene with a 2 1/2 story woodframe with heavy fire showing. Chief 512 transmitted the
2nd alarm right after he arrived and ordered an defensive attack only on the house before units started to
work. Tower 512 went to the roof and vented as firefighters went heavy duty to knock down the bulk of the
fire before an interior attack was made to get the fire spreading through out the walls. One firefighter was

NORWOOD BOROUGH, PA -- At 19:15 hrs Companies were dispatched to 106 E. Amosland road for the
building fire. Command-(02-9) arrived to medium smoke pushing. Crews put an 1 3/4 line in service and

CAMDEN CITY, NJ -- On March 31, 2007, a box was transmitted for Camden Iron at Front and Atlantic Ave ’s
for a junkyard fire at 2 pm. The first arriving units reported heavy fire conditions within the yard. Battalion 1
arrived and reported a pile of automobiles approx 50x100 well involved. Crews secured a water supply and
supplied Ladder 1 using the master streams from the bucket. The all hands box was dispatched. Ladder 1
placed 2 Ladder Pipes in operation as well as multiple handlines. Camden Iron crews operated with heavy
machines to pull the pile apart. One firefighter obtained minor injuries on the fireground. Crews battled the
blaze for approx 90 minutes before Battalion 1 placed it under control. The smoke column was seen for

Working Dump Fire, Camden County, NJ 03.31.2007

WEST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP, PA -- Just before 1300Hrs the Rescue local was dispatched for an PIC with
reported entrapment in the 500 block of Beaver Valley Pike in West Lampeter Township. County
Communications advised of a two vehicle head on collision with both drivers entrapped. Township Police
arrived a short time later and confirmed the report of entrapment of both drivers. Engine 54-1 arrived and
immediately began stabilizing the vehicles and Rescue Squad 512 arrived deploying a full complement of
hydraulic and electric tools. All crews worked together and both patients were removed from their vehicles
by 1314 hours. 512 volunteers remained on the scene to assist with debris clean up upon the completion of
the police investigation. Units cleared just after 1500 hours.

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP, PA -- Shortly before 7pm on Saturday, March 31st, Westmoreland County 911
dispatched fire units for a residential structure fire on Elks Place in Rostraver Township. Police arrived
on-scene and reported a working fire and that on occupant may possibly be trapped inside the home.
Several minutes later, it was reported that the occupant was accounted for. The fire quickly spread through
the home as firefighters started a defensive attack. Firefighters battled the blaze for over an hour before
finally bringing the fire under control. There were no reported injuries but the home was completely

Working House Fire, Westmoreland County, PA 03.31.2007

WALKER TOWNSHIP, PA -- Juniata Box 8-02 was alerted for a 1st alarm house fire in Walker Twp on Woods
Road. Portable 85-2 o/s with a fully involved structure, starting into a 2nd structure. 2 other exposures on
side C of the fire building. E 82-1 o/s with Chief 81-3 assuming command, immediately requesting a 2nd
alarm assignment. E 22 to establish a fill site into the Juniata River at the Muskrat Springs access area,
prepare for Tanker shuttle. Crews advanced lines into the Side B exposure to battle back flames until the
fire building was under control. Units o/s approx 3 hours. The fire building a 2 exposers on side C were a
total loss, exposure B received fire, smoke, and water damage.
