TOWNSHIP OF TABERNACLE, NJ -- October 17th, 2007 At approximately 11:44hrs TF43, Stations 289 & 281 and
Medic 33 were dispatched to Rt. 206 and Tuckerton for an MVA with entrapment. Quint 4314 (Smith) signed
on within minutes with 4 and was advised of a dump truck vs. SUV with multiple trapped. Enroute the location
was modified to Rt. 206 at Flyatt Road. Q4314 arrived to find as reported and driver of SUV heavily entrapped
and a 4 year old passenger apparently uninjured. Q4314's crew split to stabilize vehicle and provide patient
care. E2811 and R4399 (Vena) arrived simultaneously. E2811 was ordered to stretched an 1 3/4" line and the
rescue went into service with assistance from Q4314. RE1712 was on the street from a previous call and was
detailed to Medford Lakes Road and Rt. 206 to establish a Landing Zone but was redirected to the scene due
to the extended extrication. E371 added for the LZ which was then moved to a field adjacent to the accident
scene. R2818 handled fluid control from the dump truck. E4311 moved up to the scene from staging to
provide additional manpower. NJSP closed Rt. 206 for approximately 2 hours. EMS was provided by 1791,
2893 and 4394. One priority 1 trauma flown to Cooper. Two others transported by ground. Station 172
assisted with fie police activities. Crews cleared in 90 Minutes.

Dump Truck and SUV Collide with Entrapment, Burlington County, NJ 10.17.2007

WOODLYNNE, NJ -- On October 18, 2007, at 9 a.m, the Collingswood Police notified Central Dispatch that a
vehicle had drove into the Woodlynne Firehouse on Cooper Street. The 21 year old intoxicated driver was
able to make it out of the vehicle with minor injuries. The SUV smashed through the bay door and struck the
Engine and pushed it back about 2 feet. The force of the impact knocked the Officer’s air pack right out of
the bracket. No tire marks were found which indicated he never tried to stop prior to the crash. The driver
from Camden City was seen stopped at Woodlynne Ave and Chestnut talking to someone. He then gunned
the SUV and drove straight through the firehouse door. Police stated he was charged for driving while
intoxicated and was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. No firefighters were hurt during the crash but

Intoxicated Person Crashes Into Firehouse, Camden County, NJ 10.18.2007

CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- On October 13, 2007 at 415 am, a Philadelphia units were alerted of a serious
M.V.A at Front and Lehigh Streets. First arriving units found a 2 car M.V.A with heavy damage. The vehicles
collided head on sending one out of control and came to a stop half way down the block. Additional Medics
were called to the scene for a total of 3 victims being injured. All 3 victims were transported to a near by
hospital. The Philadelphia Police Department are investigating the cause of the crash.

CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- On October 14, 2007 at 4 p.m., a Tactical Box was dispatched at 2400 E. Butler
Street for a building fire. Pipeline 28 arrived and confirmed a working fire. Battalion 10 arrived and reported
a warehouse 100x200 fully involved. The 2nd alarm was sounded. Crews went in operation with multiple
Ladder Pipes, Deck Guns and 2 1/2’s. Due to the extensive fire conditions, the smoke could be seen from
across the river in New Jersey. The Pennsauken Fire Department in Camden County NJ was dispatched for
smoke investigations. No injuries were reported on the fire ground.

SPRINGFIELD, PA -- On October 13, 2007 at 12:45 am, Springfield units were dispatched for an M.V.A Rescue
Assignment at Rolling Rd. and Scenic Rd. Units arrived to find a 2 car accident, one with heavy front end
damage in the roadway and the second around a tree off the roadway. The occupant from the vehicle on the
roadway was heavily trapped. Rescue crews worked for an extensive extrication. The occupant died later at
the hospital. The occupant of the other vehicle was ejected and pronounced D.O.A on scene. This occupant
was 19 and described as having blunt force injuries and extensive burns. Police stated they believed the
accident was a result of drag racing. The mustang hit the other vehicle head. The other vehicle seen fled the

Fatal PIC w/Entrapment, Delaware County, PA 10.13.2007

CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, PA -- On October 17, 2007, a Philadelphia Tactical box was dispatched to Collins and
Huntingdon St. for a reported building fire. Battalion 10 arrived and reported a 15x45 vacant building with
heavy fire showing from the 2nd and 3rd floors. Battalion 10 directed all companies to use to in operation
with exterior attack operations. Crews went in operation with master streams to knock the bulk of the fire
down. Crews then went in to open up and check for extension. The fire was placed under control around the
30 minute mark. No injuries were reported on the fire ground.

PUMPFIRE HEADQUARTERS -- The staff at PUMPFIRE would like to wish Firefighter/EMT Andrew Plotts the
best of luck as he heads out on yet another "assignment". Once graduating high school Andrew enlisted in
the US Coast Guard and will be “shoving off” by the end of the month. Andrew is a contributing editor to
PUMPFIRE with several videos and photos sent in. He's a firefighter/EMT at Green Ridge Volunteers in
Delaware County Pa., and also a member of Prince George's Kentland Volunteer Fire Dept. Andrew will be in
basic training for weeks in Cape May, NJ., then off to Norfolk, VA where he'll start Boatswain Mate training.
The staff and friends here at PUMPFIRE wish him all the luck. Look for him “running the line” somewhere on
the east coast again soon.
